Chapter 125 - Asura Bloodline

While Klein was back home trying to advance his manipulation skills, Z'oelo was back on Planet Lokhil with the headstrong Shetavi.

Upon seeing his ship arrive from the sky, the watchman rang his bell signifying an unknown threat.

"Another flying vessel? I wonder if it's him," one of the people spoke.

"Ah! You mean the Sword Sovereign's son. He and those shrimpy looking outsiders did leave a while back in one of these things."

At first, it was just the average Shetavi civilians gathered around, but after a short time the higher ups came out to observe the scene.

From the Blacksmith Clan to the Chef Clan, the divided clans grouped together to see what would emerge from the small alien ship.

Knowing a bit more than the rest of the clans, the Sword Sovereign stood out among the leaders as the strongest and one in charge.

'He has been out of my control for some time now. Why would he return now all of a sudden?'

Beside him, a smaller Shetavi kid stood in awe of the situation.

It was then that the ship's hatch opened and Z'oelo stepped out under the gazes of the entire sept.

"I'm back baby," Z'oelo announced with outstretched arms.

The crowd was immediately turned off of the exclamation and began talking amongst themselves.

"I wonder what exists out there if he could travel the skies freely."

"Screw what exists out there! We can barely travel outside the walls without running into dangerous creatures and their livelli."

"Speak for yourself! Last time I checked, your livelli was a measly kite!"

"Enough!"

The Sword Sovereign spoke and ceased the chatter.

"It has been some time since we last saw my son. I'd like to welcome his return privately, so just go back to what you were doing previously."

"As the Sovereign commands," the people shouted before leaving.

As for the clan heads, they simply looked at the ship and mused over the concept of otherworldly travel and life outside of their civilization before heading back to their respective duties.

"Come now, son. Let's have a discussion."

'I thought I was going to be welcomed back,' Z'oelo sighed, 'Seems like I've got to give him something worthy of my return."

They were soon back in his home and the first thing that he noticed was that there was another woman in the house other than his mother.

"What was the reason behind the alarm," she asked with her back turned.

"It's him Mom! He's back," the child that was sticking close to the Sword Sovereign had followed them into the house.

'This brat couldn't be...,' Z'oelo had not noticed it at first, but he soon realized the truth.

"Oh! It's him," the mother of the child was so surprised she quickly turned around to see for her own eyes.

"So, I was replaced already. Where is my mother then?"

The Sword Sovereign could glean from his experience with Z'oelo that he was more caring and emotional than he let on, so he made sure to keep his mother around despite her fading usefulness.

"I'm right here, son," his question was answered by the appearance of his mother entering the room from another.

'Good. At least he has a sense of decency in him,' Z'oelo knew his father well, but looking at it from another perspective, the Sword Sovereign knew to play his cards right so that nothing came to bite him afterwards.

Z'oelo inherited his father's livelli ability and had a unique weapon to begin with.

After Null helped to purify him and Muni, Muni's physical form gained a sharpened edge, transforming the bat into a weapon capable of cutting.

The blunt side could shatter better than the sword side and the sword could cut and chip better than the blunt side.

With the best of both worlds alongside a trove of sword fighting techniques, Z'oelo had the potential to overthrow the power of his father.

For now, though, the two were careful not to cross each other's lines and be cordial with one another.

Upon seeing his mother safe and sound, Z'oelo shifted to other matters and spoke to his father, "I've come back home to advance my power through my foundation. Also, do you know anything about these earrings? They must have some connection to the planet."

It was easy to overlook the piercings that he had. After all, he had an extra pair of arms that was much more attention grabbing.

But pointing out the peculiarity of the earrings made the Sword Sovereign scrutinize them closely.

'What connection would these things have on this planet?'

Under his scrutinous gaze, the Sword Sovereign soon wore a surprised look on his face.

'This material... these subtle markings,' he raised his hand to touch them and when he did, he accidentally pricked himself on the back of the earring.

Once the blood seeped out of the wound, the earring seemed to come alive as it sucked the blood into its form and started glowing along the markings.

"Where did you get these?!"

The Sword Sovereign was rarely so emotional; the only other time Z'oelo saw his father like this was when Null shattered his sword.

"They appeared like my other livelli, only they never had a spirit companion with them."

"Of course they wouldn't! These earrings carry the remnants of the Asura!"

"Asura? What is that," Z'oelo asked.

It took a second for the Sword Sovereign to compose himself, but when he did he was ready to explain.

"The Asura were our ancestors that wielded formless weapons that shifted to become whatever they desired. They wielded swords, maces, tridents, bows, spears, and clubs in their multiarmed hands. I had taken notice of your extra arms, but I would have never guessed that another manifestation of the Asura would appear from you."

'So, I have a special bloodline like pretty boy. Looks like I found the direction I should strive towards.'

"I need to know more about the Asura, Father. I need to know the purpose of these earrings."

"In due time, son. It has been too long since the last appearance of an Asura. This matter could benefit the entirety of our people."

"What are you talking about, Dad? I want to train with the sword some more!"

Z'oelo looked at his half-brother and then turned to his father, "Didn't waste time trying to replace me, huh?"

"Don't even bother. He probably won't match your level in the same amount of time you did."

"I see you take it easier on him," Z'oelo said taking in to account the difference between himself and the boy.

"I figured it would help to keep his focus on the sword rather than ingrain disdain for my teachings and warp his personality, thus reflecting in his livelli partner."

Z'oelo could only scratch his head awkwardly, 'How would he feel if he knew I was technically older than I am? It's hard to change my personality after all.'

'Tell me about it,' the silent Muni suddenly spoke up for a quick jab.
