A young girl was standing in front of the crowd over there, with long black hair spreading over her shoulders casually, wearing a knee-length white veil skirt, also covered with a long-sleeved jacket, a zipper straight to the collar.
Even though she was dressed at will, her face was still pure and beautiful, which made people unwilling to turn their eyes away.
Next to her, there were a few gentlemen who were secretly sizing her up, with interest written all over their faces.
Heloise!
Did she actually dare to come here?
Was she seeking death voluntarily?
Coral saw Heloise looking over, and hooking her lips, a cold smile floating on her face, which was light and calm, but Coral realized it was clearly provocative.
Coral's breath was caught in her throat and she gritted her teeth in hatred.
Darnell was oblivious, still asking himself, "You are pleased, aren't you?"
Was she pleased?
She was fuming mad!
Coral couldn't hold on to her smile at all, and just barely managed a 'hmm'.
"I wasn't even hopeful, but I didn't think she'd show up anyway, so it looks like she still thinks about us on her mind." Darnell said with a smile, holding her hand tightly, "Come on, don't you have a lot of words to tell her? I'll take you over there."
After saying that, Darnell pulled her and was about to walk towards Heloise.
"Wait a minute."
Coral pulled Darnell by the hand and frowned, "Darnell, uncle called me and said that the project of yours, MUSE, is not yet done, and asked you not to just focus on amusements."
Upon hearing this, Darnell's face sank.
He was the third son in the family, and was already unappreciated, and his father was always dissatisfied with everything he did.
"Look, you've accompanied me to the dance. I've reserved a suite for you here, so go over there and do your work, and come back after you've finished passing it on to your father. I'll wait for you." Coral pulled him back and said.
"But this project won't be done in two hours." Darnell turned his head in Heloise's direction, "It's your birthday and, moreover, it's so hard for the three of us to meet ..."
"So, you're just going to let uncle down on you, aren't you? Uncle will think it's me who brought you down."
Coral lowered her eyes, her voice muffled.
"Coral..."
"Go ahead, I'm here, I won't let your Heloise get away again." Coral went on pettishly and sourly.
"What do you mean saying my Heloise? That's all in the past." Hearing her saying this, Darnell had to compromise and coaxed, "Alright then, I'll go do my business first, and I'll come over when I'm done."
Coral instantly broke into a smile, "Okay, go ahead, I'll explain it to Heloise."
"Okay, ask her why she won't show her true name. Is she suffering from anything?"
Darnell said, glancing in Heloise's direction again before turning to leave.
Coral immediately called on a waiter, "Keep an eye on Darnell. If he comes out of the suite, stop him at once. Don't let him come to this dinner."
She wanted to give Heloise a 'good reception' here.
"Understood."
The waiter obediently followed Darnell out.
Looking at Darnell leaving the venue, Coral's eyes changed and she looked coldly at Heloise.
Heloise was standing in the same place and was being surrounded by a couple of dandies asking for her phone number.
What a beckoning bitch! She was like this when she was 18, and she was still like this at 21!
Coral took a step to her friend Bena's side and said, "Bena, did you see that woman?"
Men always pay the most attention to beautiful women.
Bena spotted Heloise early on and said sourly, "See? She was brought in by Darnell. Is she your friend? She's too disrespectful to you, too, the gown isn't even properly worn, and she's wearing a jacket, ugly as hell."
Coral read Bena's envy. That was good.
Coral hooked her lips and whispered, "I heard that Darnell seems to be chasing her. Don't say again, I've never given you a chance, I have already pushed Darnell away from you, and this woman... I am handing her over to you to deal with ... she doesn't even have an invitation to my birthday banquet."
Hearing that, Bena's eyes lit up, "You mean ... this isn't good, right? It's your birthday tonight, I can't mess it up."
"It's the same routine for every party. I'm quite happy to have the occasional clown show to watch."
Coral smiled, gesturing at her crazily.
"Okay!"
With those words from Coral, Bena took her friends and headed them up.
Heloise was standing by the buffet table enjoying her meal, a couple of rich kids were surrounding her like flies.
"Beauty, how come I haven't seen you in this social circle before? What family are you from?"
"Beauty, let's get acquainted, this is my business card, my family is Riverfield Electronics Consortium."
"..."
Heloise wasn't interested in engaging herself in conversation with them and she reached for a piece of macaroon from a delicate plate on the buffet table.
Suddenly a shrill female voice came out, "Why haven't I seen this beauty before?"
The rich kids turned around at the sound.
Bena, in a champagne-colored evening gown with a single shoulder strap, walked over and looked directly at Heloise with a provocative face.
Heloise stood there lazily, not even raising her eyes.
Bena stood in front of her with a condescending attitude, "I've known all of Coral's friends well, but I don't know you yet. Excuse me, could you please show me your invitation?"
Hearing this, Heloise shook her head, her voice faint, "I don't have an invitation, it was Miss Brady's boyfriend, Mr. Smith who led me in."
"Miss Brady's boyfriend?" Bena coldly laughed, "Didn't you prepare the information in order to come here and get it to eat and drink for free by cheating? Darnell has just opened the first dance with Coral. He is not Coral's boyfriend. What are you talking nonsense about?"
"Do you say I am getting it to eat and drink for free by cheating?"
The way these rich kids looked at Heloise changed in a flash.
They thought that in this social circle they could run into the true rich young madam with the same tatus as themselves, but if she was a cheater who got food and drink for free here, they wouldn't want to mess with her, and they couldn't afford to lose this face.
Heloise noticed the change of their gazes and didn't care, calmly lowered her head and took a bite of the macaron in her hand.
"I mean you're really thick-skinned, you still dare to keep eating and drinking here even after being exposed by me?"
Heloise unhurriedly finished the rest of the macaroon, stuck her hands into her jacket pockets, hooked her lips and looked straight at Bena, her voice was clear and cold, "How do you prove that I was a cheat to get food and drink here for free?"
"Are you still acting innocent?" Bena snorted, "Okay, you said you're Coral's friend, let's go, I'll take you to find the truth with Coral!"
Saying that, Bena grabbed Heloise's hand and headed out.
"Let go, I'll walk by myself."
Heloise broke away from her hand and followed her forward with deliberate steps.
A few of the rich kids immediately followed, which drew the attention of bystanders who were wondering what had happened, and the crowd followed to see what was going on next.
More and more people followed Bena to the entrance of the venue.
Coral stood in the doorway with champagne in her hand, talking to someone, keeping an eye on what was taking place over there in the corner of her eyes.
"Coral!"
Bena called to her.
Coral turned her head and feigned a stunned look at the crowd, "What's up? Why do so many people gather here?"
Bena pulled Heloise hard into the bright light of the doorway, deliberately raising her voice and saying loudly, "Coral, this woman said she was your friend, is it true? "
