Chapter 110 - Beyond the Burning Horizon (109)

Violet had fallen asleep on Drogo's back while Aeron and Starfania guided their dragons through the night sky. The rhythmic beating of their wings was soothing, but even they had their limits. As their flight grew sluggish, Starfania scanned the horizon for a place to rest. Spotting a small island nestled beneath the moonlight, she urged Atlas to descend. Her heart pounded with anticipation–this was the first time they landed somewhere truly unknown. With a graceful swoop, Atlas touched down, followed closely by Drogo. Aeron carefully lifted Violet from Drogo's back and laid her down on the grass. The cool breeze rustled through the trees, bringing with it the scent of salt and earth. Starfania dismounted and walked over to Aeron, her eyes wide with excitement.

"Can you believe we actually did it?" she whispered, as if the island might somehow be disturbed by their voices. Aeron nodded, his gaze sweeping over the unfamiliar landscape. Moonlight illuminated the shoreline, where gentle waves lapped at the sand. It was enchanting, a hidden gem away from the world they knew. He knelt beside Violet, brushing a few strands of hair from her face, ensuring she rested peacefully.

Starfania wandered a few steps away, feeling the soft sand beneath her feet. She was eager to explore, but didn't want to stray too far. There was a thrill in the air, a sense of adventure just waiting to unfold.

"Let's set up a camp," she said, glancing back at Aeron.

"Good idea," he replied, glancing toward Drogo and Atlas, who were both contently settling down nearby. They looked weary but vigilant, always ready for the next adventure. It was comforting to know their dragons would keep watch. As Starfania began to gather some driftwood for a fire. The night was still, save for the distant sound of waves, but there was something in the air that hinted at stories yet to be told.

"What do you think will happen now? " she asked, sparking Aeron's imagination. They could create their stories, weave their own tales around the flickering flames. The thought thrilled her. Aeron shrugged. " I don't know, but whatever happens next will be a grand adventure. "
