As I walked in, I discovered that those people were gathered around a black car. A group of children were admiringly touching the car, and Ruka Glenn stood in front of the car with arms akimbo, bossily saying, "Each person can only touch it once. What if you all with your dirty hands make my family's car dirty?"
Nell Harris's hand on the car handle started to tremble. Her face was as pale as it had been when she was pulled out of the water that day.
Scarlett Glenn felt uneasy and called softly, "Mum..."
Her voice woke Nell Harris from her daze.
"Don't be afraid, Mum is here." Nell Harris turned back to stroke Scarlett's top of the head. These words were meant to comfort Scarlett, but also to comfort herself.
