Escorted by a gentleman in a tailcoat into a room, the mask she received was a white veil.
Surprised, the tailcoated gentleman respectfully said:
"This was specially prepared for you by Princess Consort Matilda."
Arabella Vanderbilt took it and said in French, "Thank you."
Afterward, the tailcoated gentleman exited the room.
Taking off her coat, she touched up her makeup, loosened her indigo hair which had been simply coiled up upon her arrival, and now as it cascaded down, her locks bore natural curls. She casually flipped through the items on the dressing table and found a red hairpin, using it to effortlessly secure her hair at the back of her head. Then she donned the white veil given to her by Princess Consort Matilda.
The white veil concealed the lower part of her face, and the faint fragrance emanating from it made her smile unconsciously. Her bright twinkling eyes glanced in the mirror before she turned and left the room.
