While this ability derived from genes can be utilized easily, it cannot be sustained for long due to rapid exhaustion.
This created quite a dilemma, but thanks to human intelligence, genetic scientists discovered a mysterious object located just below the navel.
It was a simple ball-shaped object, later named Mana Core.
After years of experiments, the mysteries of it were finally solved.
Mana has the greatest effect on humans.
With the awakening of genes, an object was needed that could ensure the genes were used for a longer period, and the Mana core solved this issue.
The Mana core was an object that could be used to store mana and, therefore, enabled the continuous use of genetic abilities without exhaustion.
With years of experimentation, its further uses were discovered, bringing about the existence of Cultivation Stages.
The early cultivation stages involved sensing Mana, which was the first requirement to absorb Mana into the core.
Only at 16 years of age can the Mana core be perfectly developed enough to store mana.
The cultivation process consists of four distinct stages, which are currently recognized as follows:

Though awakeners can be at the same stage, there is sometimes a massive difference between their power, and that is where Gene grades come in.
The genes are graded based on their power, with the Lowest being the F-grade while the highest is the A-grade.
The nine families became the most powerful on Earth due to their A-grade genes, which can be inherited by their offspring.
A glint crossed through Zeras's eyes, finally realizing why the Celestria family he came from was part of the Nine families.
It was because their gene, Lightning Hammer Gene, was an A-grade Gene.
And the genes were also inheritable, something he failed at.

Zeras read all the process of sensing Mana and absorbing it into one's core.
