Chapter 12 - Ruined plan

Diana, feeling disturbed by Rose who lay beside her, dropped her phone with a sigh. She couldn't stop sighing for even a second.

"What's up, Rose?" she asked.

"I'm gonna miss Candy. Dragon from the Slayers clan is buying her today," Rose lamented.

Diana hissed and rolled her eyes.

"It's better she's sold. If she stays here, Boss will kill her. I know she's your friend… and you wouldn't want that for her," Diana replied, rolling her eyes again as she focused back on her phone.

"Are you jealous of her?" Rose snapped, eyes narrowing.

"Nah. I just don't like her. And I don't know why. Maybe because she keeps making my Boss angry," Diana shrugged.

"Boss will never like you. Keep that in mind," Rose muttered, rolling her eyes.

Their door suddenly flipped open, revealing Dickson.

"Ouch! Learn how to fucking knock, Dickson!" Diana snapped.

Dickson ignored her as usual. He stepped aside, allowing Candy—head lowered, almost crying—to step inside.

Rose's eyes widened, and she slipped off the bed, rushing toward her.

"Baby! I'm gonna miss you! Are you here to take your things?" she asked, pouting.

Candy looked up, tears in her eyes. Rose blinked, stunned. Diana rolled her eyes.

"Wait up, Dickson," Diana called, following him as they walked out, talking quietly about the mission tomorrow.

Rose gently wiped Candy's tears with her thumb.

"Are you gonna miss me?" she asked. Candy immediately hugged her.

"I'm stuck here forever, Rose. The monster said I'm his property… forever. I'm not leaving," Candy whimpered, crying.

Rose pulled back, eyes wide.

"So… you're not leaving again?"

Candy nodded.

"Woah!" Rose exclaimed, hugging her tightly—but then paused.

"Wait… did you just say the Boss called you his property… forever?" she asked, brow creased.

"Yes. The monster said so… he really is a monster," Candy muttered, dragging herself onto the bed and flopping onto her back.

"Ahhhh!" She began kicking her legs up, a mix of fury and despair.

Rose stared, awed and confused. Their Boss had never called any worker or gang member "property forever." What's going on? she wondered, watching Candy's storm of anger and tears.

Meanwhile, Diana walked side by side with Dickson, discussing the mission.

"By what time are we leaving tomorrow?" she asked.

"12 PM," Dickson muttered.

"Is the Boss going?" She looked up at him. He shook his head.

Diana stepped on something by mistake and almost fell, but Dickson caught her quickly.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"I'm fine," she said, forcing a smile as they continued walking.

From afar, Risky watched them. His usual smile was gone, replaced by sadness and frustration.

My heart… he thought, squeezing it in pain. He'd liked Diana for so long, but she hadn't even noticed him. Seeing her with Dickson hurt more than he could bear.

"You should confess your feelings to her and stop acting like a fool," Stone's voice came from behind. Risky turned.

"Will she accept me?" he asked.

Stone furrowed his brows. "How would I know? I'm not in her heart. But you're a sweet guy… I think she will."

Risky beamed and, without warning, pecked Stone on the cheek.

"Ewwww!" Stone's eyes widened. "Are you… gay?"

"Do you wanna check it out?" Risky grinned, stepping closer. Stone took a step back.

"Back away!" he shouted, turning and running. Risky chased after him.

"Come and check it out!" Risky called.

"Fuck off, weirdo!" Stone yelled, sprinting ahead.
