After failing to rein in my obsessive sense of curiosity and after making my exit from within the carriage, I could only stop my feet when I had made my way to stand within the crowd. Hopefully, no idiot would dare to try to grope me or something... otherwise, I would definitely kick them in the nut sack.
Sarah, too, came to quietly stand next to me. And that was when I noticed something that nobody told me about before. I could somehow tell that there were some experts from my family's guards who had followed us here stealthily from somewhere near the Carriage.
It seems that after our exit from the Carriage, these guys got off their vehicles too, and chose different positions to try to keep an eye on me. I decided to put up with it since these guys were just trying their best to maintain the safety around me, and we're here for my well-being. I did not doubt that they would certainly act immediately if anything untoward happened to me.
The other reason I let them be was that I was sure Mother must have sent them to keep an eye on me.
Well... It's no problem really. I am not really here to cause some trouble. I am just really curious about what's going on over here.

A huge crowd surrounded the square as the people continued to chatter vigorously. A small stage had been set up where a young girl was kneeling while looking down. Small sobbing voices kept coming out from her as she continued to try to ignore the rampaging crowd.
A rotund man next to her was loudly speaking out to the people in the crowd with a lot of persuasion in his voice. Sadly, it didn't seem like he was introducing a person. In fact, the proceedings felt like the man was busy trying to show off his own goods. He also looked like a pro at it, since that was his livelihood. He was, after all... a Slave trader.
"My dear Residents!! I present to you this beautiful young girl! She has been prepared to be sold to one of the lucky ones amongst you that would buy her today!"
"I must tell you that this girl is an authentic virgin and that has been thoroughly checked by me. Have no fear!! She is not someone who would act rebelliously towards her owner."
"You all know my name, Brandon. My name is even popular amongst the neighboring cities. You can definitely count on my reputation as a top Slaver that this girl is a good product that is definitely worth your money."
"You are free to try touching her and speaking to her if you would like to buy her. For those who are interested, please make a queue in front of the stage to examine the goods. If you are satisfied with it, then please come to me and tell me your quoted bid. The highest bidder will be the one who will be able to take this girl away with himself and be her lawful owner. Of course, our honorable young ladies are invited to buy her too if they would prefer a female servant for themselves."
The young girl on the stage was being stared at by the people surrounding her. They all looked at her with desire in their eyes, but didn't look at her as a human. On the contrary, they tried to gauge whether the girl would be a profitable purchase or not. Very soon, a long queue formed as men and women of different ages gathered as they sought to buy the young girl.
"Man, I can't believe I will be able to take this chick with me back home. My wife, I tell you, has turned into a total bitch! How many nights have I had the thought that it would be better to sleep with an OX rather than my own wife? Hehehehehe, maybe tonight I will be able to enjoy this girl thoroughly. But... don't tell my wife about it, alright?"
"What are you worried about? Although I haven't gotten married yet, I don't plan on getting married anytime soon. It is getting too hard trying to force any kind of girl that I desire into fucking her since I am not really into committing crimes and all. While outrageous comments like these kept passing around the group, the girl kept sitting down while kneeling as she tightened her fists and tried remembering why she was doing all of this.
'Mother... Father... I will definitely make sure that you two have a good burial. Don't worry about your daughter. Once I get sold and have made sure that you guys are at rest, I will escape this City as soon as possible and cheat my way out of this Kingdom. With my new skills, there is no way anyone would be able to stop me. However... I need the money right now and have to bear with this humiliation. Please forgive me if I am letting you two down."
The area kept carrying noises here and there, as the number of people wanting to buy the girl turned up a few notches.
It wasn't really that surprising, as the girl was really a very beautiful woman, making even a few women stand in line with the men. If not for her poor circumstances, she could have become the wife of some Great Noble. However, in the end, even a beautiful rose would end up being stuck in the dung.
The girl's relatives were nowhere to be found as they had already handed the girl over to the slaver. They have already received their money and wanted nothing to do with any of this.
