Thomas Shannon's hand, which had been rubbing his forehead, paused, and his eye color deepened.
Could the notebook really have survived that huge fire?
"It's likely notes from a doctor who injected the sedative into the maniac. It records the daily dosage of medicine and the maniac's reactions," William Guillen said slowly. "I'm wondering, could the contents of this notebook have been intended for the culprit pulling the strings?"
"How so?"
"Because the content of the notebook is written in English," William Guillen said. "According to my investigation, there are no foreign employees in the asylum, so the content of this notebook isn't intended for people from Country A."
Thomas Shannon nodded and took a deep breath. "Keep the notebook safe for now. Also, there's no need to investigate Sophie Sullivan's background anymore."
