In the blink of an eye, the day of the surgery, scheduled for two days later, arrived.
Early in the morning, Sophie Sullivan made her preparations as per the doctor's instructions.
When she arrived at the medical office, the doctor and nurse were ready. Seeing her pale face, the doctor comforted her, "Don't be nervous. Take off the mask first."
Having removed the mask, Sophie was assisted onto the operating table by the nurse.
"Is there any risk?" Sophie asked tentatively.

The doctor felt insulted. Anyone Young Master Shannon hired at great expense to be the manor's full-time doctor would have unquestionable medical skills.
Never mind a minor vocal cord surgery; the doctor was fully capable of handling even major operations.
"Rest assured. Go to sleep, and you'll be fine when you wake up."
