The New Year at the Graves Family was quite dull.
There were simply too many people, each with their own thoughts. This large group of people eating together, calling it a family reunion dinner, didn't feel warm. It was merely a ritual passed down through the generations in the Graves Family, like a tradition.
As the family head, Gavin Graves naturally couldn't leave the table, having to deal with various distant relatives and neighbors.
The older relatives always had to put on airs in front of him, which he usually brushed off. But during New Year's and festivals, he had to leave some room for courtesy, enduring the annoyance while listening to their ramblings.
Mrs. Graves didn't like New Year either.
Because she could only sit in the most out-of-the-way place with Elder Master Graves' mistresses. Like a concubine of old times, even though her son is now the family head, she still has no social status and cannot sit in Old Mrs. Graves' chair.
