When Gavin returned, the two people in the hospital room were arguing.
Cherry wanted Purple Summers to cut her toenails, but Purple Summers refused, and Cherry accused Purple Summers of breaking her promise.
Purple Summers retorted bluntly, "When did I promise to cut your toenails?!"
"Just now, you said it yourself." Cherry insisted self-righteously, "If you hadn't said it, I wouldn't have even remembered to cut them!"
"You're just being unreasonable!" Purple Summers was so angry she was about to explode.
She saw Gavin return and couldn't maintain a polite demeanor, shoved the nail clippers into Gavin's hand irritably, "You take care of it!"
With that, she picked up her bag and left.
Gavin: "..."
He looked down at the nail clippers in his hand, then at Cherry's little feet.
Cherry quietly retracted her foot and mumbled, "I didn't force her… She said she was going to cut them herself, and then she didn't keep her word…"
