James Black's response made Jane Sampson momentarily doubt if she really was praising James just now. Why does he have this tendency to destroy himself after receiving a compliment?
"Have you hugged enough? If you have, I'll go dry my hair." James patted Jane's waist, "It's late at night, did I wake you? Are you not sleepy?"
Jane felt a little reluctant. In her heart, she wanted to say she hadn't hugged enough, but seeing James's hair still wet, she released him and urged him to dry his hair quickly.
In this weather, staying damp might easily lead to illness.
While James was drying his hair, Jane moved a chair next to him, propped her chin in her hands, and watched him busy himself, like a little clingy thing. Wherever James went, she followed.
James didn't find her annoying at all. Seeing her secretly yawning while feeling sleepy but still looking at him with eyes full of starlight, it melted his heart.
