I'd rather she hate me than become the most familiar stranger in her eyes.

The Shaw Residence.
Study room.
Someone knocked lightly on the door and whispered, "Master, Miss Candi has arrived."
The voice inside was elegant and pleasing, "Come in."
The door of the study room was gently pushed open, and the servant carefully led Aldana Candi inside.
Philip Shaw leaned against the window sill, holding a coffee cup in his hand. From his angle, he could just see the scene of her returning by car a moment ago.
Perhaps, just now, he was sipping his coffee while relishing in the sight of her humiliating return.
"Master, I'll leave now."
The servant considerately excused himself, leaving the two of them alone.
The door closed slowly behind him, leaving only the sound of their breathing in the sunny study.
