Eric looked at her expression, knowing he had said something he shouldn't have. Was he foolishly hoping for forgiveness from her side? But even if Aldana forgave him, could he forgive himself and pretend nothing had happened?
He wasn't that shameless.
"Good night."
He said softly.
Aldana nodded slightly and quietly closed her eyes.
He withdrew his gaze, turned off the light, and walked out.
He leaned against the wall, looking up at the void, a hint of confusion in his eyes.
How could he make amends?
For everything she lost.
It was impossible to make up for it.
In the days to come, if he could always stay by her side, might it slightly ease his guilt, serving as her redemption of him?
But Aldana probably wouldn't want him to stay.
What he envisioned now was merely wishful thinking; Aldana likely didn't want to live with him.
If Aldana drove him away, what should he say?
Agree? Or refuse her?
