Having nothing to do is a very strange state.
Norris Moore went upstairs to take a bath and then, wearing a loose pink bathrobe, came down from upstairs with her hair dripping wet. She walked over to the sofa in her fluffy slippers and turned on the TV.
The variety show was still on. The guests and the audience were laughing and chattering. Norris leaned on the couch, hugging her legs as she sat there. Drops of water from her hair trickled down one by one. The nanny came over with a dry towel: "Miss Moore, why did you come down without drying your hair? You'll catch a cold."
Norris took the dry towel and wiped away the water from the ends of her hair, her voice sounding weak: "I'm a bit bored."
Having nothing to do is actually a very lonely state.
When there are things to ponder over, filling her days, she doesn't think much of Trenton Smith. But as soon as life quiets down, she inevitably thinks of that man.
Today, for some reason, she really wanted to see him.
