The man wrapped his arms around her and chuckled softly a few more times.
Norris Moore's face was against his chest, and she could hear the thumping of his heart and his deep laughter. Trenton Smith kissed the top of her head, "It's getting late, you should go to sleep."
He lifted her gently back onto the bed.
Norris Moore clutched the blanket and looked up at him, his features softened in the warm light, revealing an unusual tenderness.
Her heart uncontrollably skipped a beat.
Norris thought to herself, maybe… even without regaining her memory, could she possibly fall in love with him?
No woman could resist such tenderness from a man.
She saw him about to leave and couldn't help but reach out to tug at the hem of his clothes. Trenton Smith stopped walking and turned his head to look at her, "What's wrong?"
Norris bowed her head, her voice very low, "The child…"
Trenton Smith looked at her, then sighed softly.
