Jack raised a hand to gently wipe away Keira Leaf's teardrops from her cheeks, though silent, he looked at her with concern, the little one always had an earnest appearance.
Howard gently patted Keira Leaf's back and spoke innocently, "Mum, Daddy loves you very much, you are happy, right?"
Keira Leaf lowered her eyes and nodded forcefully, "Yes, Mum is very happy."
"That's great, if Mum is happy, then I am happy too." Howard was overjoyed, his eyes shone a bit brighter, he turned his head towards Jack, seeming to feel he had accomplished something remarkable, making him join in on the shared happiness.
Jack exchanged a glance with him, then turned his head back and remained silent.
Although Mum seemed indeed happy, he couldn't shake the feeling she wasn't as happy as she appeared.
But why was that? He didn't understand.
Why did Daddy say he still loves her, yet she wasn't as happy as he'd imagined?
