Zoe Yale pricked up her ears, trying hard to make out what they were saying, but William Frans's voice was too soft; she couldn't hear him at all.
She could only strain to lean her head further forward...
"Hiss—" The moment she moved, she couldn't help but take in a sharp breath of cold air.
She had been squatting for too long and her foot was cramping!
"Who's behind me?" William Frans was extremely alert; even a very subtle noise immediately caught his attention.
He stood up briskly from the chair, tossed the Towel onto it, and gestured to Mr. Lawrence beside him to keep quiet. Then he stepped towards the direction of Zoe Yale.
Zoe Yale snapped back to reality and, ignoring the cramping in her little leg, curled her tiny body under the lounge chair.
She wished she could merge with the chair...
"I've already seen you, come out!" William Frans suddenly growled.
