Esme — POV
Too stunned to speak, I found myself face-to-face with a dragon—calm, composed, and making no move to attack. She looked at me and called me "Queen." Her name was Kaida.
"Queen," she said.
"Ye… yes," I stammered, trying hard not to show how scared I was of the massive creature in front of me.
"Please, don't be afraid of me," she said, lowering her head. I took a step back, startled. "I am your strength, Queen." Her words—soft and reassuring—calmed me just a little.
"I can use your power?" I asked cautiously.
"Yes," she replied, her voice steady and calm.
"Where am I?" I looked around. Everything was glowing white. Just the two of us—me and the dragon—standing on water that lapped around my ankles. My dress: a simple white gown.
"This is my home," she said. "I reside in the dimension you created."
"I created it? When?" I asked, completely confused.
"In due time, Queen, you will learn the truth," she answered. "Call my name—Kaida—whenever you need my strength."
