"Please, can you be serious?" Her voice turned cold, but at least she seemed less nervous now.
"So, what exactly are we dealing with here? Did you offend some deity or something?" I shifted the conversation while maintaining a calm tone. I couldn't afford to let her see any fear in me.
Perhaps if I managed to save her, she might develop feelings for me, and that would be a win-win situation.
As for me dying? Well, I had so many hidden trump cards up my sleeve that I was pretty sure I could survive this ordeal.
"Only someone like you would do that," she replied, her expression dripping with chilling atmosphere.
"Time Wraiths , this are beings that maintain the balance of time ." She explained.
The word echoed in my ear, and strangely, I didn't find it odd for something like that to exist. If people could really change the future or the past, it would create a paradox. So, it made more sense for something to prevent such occurrences in the name of order.
