If this question had been asked some time back, it would have been met with scorn, but at this time, it looked like all were considering it.
Though no names were mentioned, all knew to whom this reference was made.
The chamber was heavy with the scent of old wood and crushed flowers; the air stirred only by the restless fluttering of translucent wings. Some of the Fae elders hovered a few inches above the ground, unable to keep still, while others slumped in their carved seats, shoulders bowed… defeated by no means.
Before them, the throne sat vacant… an unyielding reminder of their failure. Well, that couldn't really be called a failure when they had never even tried. The question was, would they have accepted the throne themselves if they had been in Ian's shoes?
