Chapter 1023 - Chapter 1023 : Marrying Her Off Would Be Akin To Handing Over A Defective Product

"Miss Ming, Young Master Fu," the old butler greeted with a smile, quickly ushering them inside.

"Little Master has been waiting at home, excited to go to the amusement park today. He couldn't sit still," the butler continued cheerfully.

"I wasn't sure where to take the boys, but since Little Jingshi enjoys it and Jinxi does too, I thought it would be a good idea," Ming Yutong said with a smile.

In no time, Ming Yutong and Little Jingshi were led inside.

Ming Yutong greeted the elderly couple.

Marshal Mo, despite his age, still looked vigorous, with a straight back as if a board were strapped to it. He exuded an impressive presence.

"Grandpa Mo, I saw you on TV," Little Jing Shi said confidently. "When I was in M Country, I saw you on TV during your visit there."

Marshal Mo chuckled at his words and patted Little Jingshi on the head.

At that moment, Mo Jinxi dashed out like a whirlwind.

He had been eagerly waiting for Ming Yutong and Little Jingshi, so he had already dressed warmly in thick down clothing, similar to Little Jingshi. He was even sweating from the heat inside the house.

"Thank you for taking him out today. It's more appropriate for Jingsheng to take him to places like the amusement park, but he's always busy. The boy has been patient and never asked Jingsheng to take him out. We really appreciate you taking him today," said Mrs. Mo gratefully.

"It's better for them to play together. I wouldn't be able to keep up with some of the games. Don't worry, I'll take good care of Jinxi," Ming Yutong assured.

Mo Jinxi was already impatient, afraid they wouldn't get enough time at the park if they left too late.

Mrs. Mo, seeing this, initially wanted to offer Ming Yutong some tea before they left but decided against it.

"We trust you," Mrs. Mo said, then turned to Mo Jinxi, "Be a good boy and listen to Aunt Ming. Don't be naughty."

Mo Jinxi quickly agreed and followed Ming Yutong and Little Jingshi out.

After they left, Mrs. Mo remarked to Marshal Mo, "I didn't expect Miss Ming to have such a good relationship with Young Master Fu and even take him out to play."

After all, Young Master Fu was Fu Yinxiu's son, and he had never seemed particularly close to anyone.

Yet, he seemed quite close to Ming Yutong.

And Fu Yinxiu didn't oppose it.

Many women who had tried to get close to Fu Yinxiu had found themselves shut out.

They tried to use Little Jingshi as a way to attract Fu Yinxiu's attention, but Little Jingshi was even harder to approach, always surrounded by Alpha Guard 3 and Alpha Guard 4.

Those who tried to find a way in through Little Jingshi could only look from a distance, unable to get close or even speak to him.

It was surprising that Ming Yutong was so close to Little Jingshi and had such frequent interactions, and Fu Yinxiu didn't seem to mind.

Mrs. Mo recalled that Ming Yutong had also attended the last parent-teacher meeting, as Mo Jingsheng had mentioned.

Marshal Mo said, "Little Ming is quite good, much better than those women with obvious ulterior motives."

Ming Yutong was unaware of Marshal Mo and Mrs. Mo's evaluation of her. She had taken Little Jingshi and Mo Jinxi to the indoor amusement park to play.

Since it was Saturday, the place was very crowded, and popular attractions had long queues.

However, the two kids didn't mind the wait because they were so excited.

Moreover, they kept each other company, chatting and playing games while waiting in line.

The amusement park had a wristband system that allowed re-entry the same day without buying another ticket.

Around noon, Ming Yutong took the kids to a highly-rated barbecue restaurant in the mall where the amusement park was located. After eating, they continued to play.

Despite the crowds and long lines, the kids managed to experience every attraction in the park by the end of the day.

When Ming Yutong received a call from Ming Yushen, they were still in the park.

The loud music inside the park had covered the ringtone, so she hadn't heard the call.

It wasn't until the kids were exhausted and settled into the car for a rest that she checked her phone and was shocked to see 26 missed calls from Ming Yuqian, starting from half an hour ago.

Worried, she quickly called Ming Yuqian back.

With so many missed calls, it was clear something urgent had happened.

The moment she dialed, Ming Yuqian answered immediately.

"Sis, where are you now?" Ming Yushen asked urgently.

"I'm out with Jingshi and Jinxi. We're just about to head home," Ming Yutong replied.

Earlier, Little Jingshi had asked if Mo Jinxi could stay the night. Ming Yutong had agreed and planned to ask the elders at the Mo family home when she dropped Mo Jinxi off later.

"Which mall are you at?" Ming Yuqian asked.

Ming Yutong provided the name of the mall, and Ming Yuqian instructed, "Don't leave the car. Stay there and don't go anywhere."

"What's happened?" Ming Yutong's heart sank, though she couldn't guess what could be wrong.

Ming Yuqian's voice was grave as he explained, "We don't know how the reporters found out about your infertility, but some prominent media accounts have already reported on it. Reporters are blocking our neighborhood, and there are people stationed outside the old residence as well."

Ming Yutong furrowed her brows, confused about why the reporters were making such a big deal out of her private issue.

Her infertility was a personal matter, and it shouldn't concern anyone else.

Why were they making it such a big news story, following her around and blocking her?

"Although we haven't made a statement, there were rumors about you possibly marrying Jiang Lulian, which led those reporters to even approach the Jiang family," Ming Yuqian continued.

Ming Yutong sighed deeply. This was supposed to be her private matter.

But, as the saying goes, "The bigger the tree, the more it attracts the wind."

The Ming family's intentions of a marriage alliance had unwittingly attracted attention from competitors who wanted to blow things out of proportion.

Even if the media didn't want to make a big deal of it, some competitors likely did.

Who would want to marry someone who couldn't bear children?

Was it meant to be a union or a vendetta?

Was the Ming family trying to make enemies by marrying off a daughter who couldn't produce heirs, treating her as a burden?

Marrying her off would be akin to handing over a defective product.
