Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Kill me, so I could feel alive(Part 2)

Following that day, I persisted in my training regimen until my body reached its limits. My abnormal regeneration gave me a swifter recovery, yet the fatigue didn't change. Despite this, my intuition told me that I was gradually becoming stronger, swifter, and sturdier as the days went on.

My fellow peers received their assignments, and it occurred to me that they too would undergo tests the same as mine. I wondered if "That man" would subject them to similar trials, attempting to shatter their spirits and mold them into ideal weapons for the future. The cruelty of his plan was truly surprising, even someone like me who was reincarnated could not fathom how much he was willing to do to achieve his plan. But now, I know what I had to do: to end that man's life and destroy the system he had created.

I questioned his motives in creating this group—was it to combat a formidable adversary or some greater threat? A league of adept assassins was a force not to be taken lightly, but who were the adversaries they aimed to fight off? My only reference was the man who had clashed with my father, whose power rivaled if not surpassed that of our village leader, owing to his extraordinary abilities which transcended common sense.

I often contemplated how to acquire those unique powers. How could one ascend beyond the realm of superhuman ability, surpassing the norm? Was training our body the only way? or were they achieved through experimentations or bloodlines? I didn't know but I was determined to find out how to acquire more power because as I am right now I couldn't even touch a single hair or even the shadow of my enemy. If I couldn't even protect myself from my enemies, how could I think of protecting those around me? I'm not a hero but every time someone dies, my heart breaks into pieces...it wasn't something that I would be getting comfortable with, now or in the future.

In the days that followed, the class 5 students who returned from their missions reappeared. As expected—their expressions were gloomy, they all were broken at some point here but now? They were losing a part of their soul, some were even on the edge of a mental breakdown. The masked overseers, who had orchestrated our training, watched in silence, devoid of any concern. Perhaps, they even like seeing us suffer, as the punishment for our mistakes became even more severe.

I continued training every day, sparring while hiding my true strength, the fight with the talented child I had previously was nothing more than a test of my grit if I truly showed him my skills then we should both be in perfect condition however I doubt that I could even defeat that guy even on those terms that's why I needed to strengthen myself for the years to come.
