This instantly stirred up Joanna Lawrence's motherly instincts.
"Sweet Stacy, please don't cry. It breaks my heart to see you crying," she squatted next to the crib, gently patting the baby.
Then, something miraculous happened.
The crying baby, who appeared to be heartbroken, suddenly stopped crying. She opened her teary and reddened beautiful big eyes, gazing curiously at Joanna.
Joanna and the baby had a staring game for a few seconds, and then the baby suddenly responded with "giggle giggle giggle" laughter.
Joanna was taken aback, then she cried out in delight: "Wow, Stacy stopped crying, and she's even smiling at me. Does this mean she likes Auntie?"
As if to prove her statement, the baby waved her arms and legs and chuckled "giggle giggle giggle" a few more times.
