Just as the two were about to reach the door, Denver Lancaster's voice came from behind: "Ashton."
"Is there something else?" Ashton Heath stopped in his tracks and looked back at Denver with a raised eyebrow.
Denver's face showed a hesitant expression, but after a few seconds, he shook his head: "It's nothing, let's have a few drinks together when we're free."
Ashton Heath raised an eyebrow, knowing that Denver wanted to say something else, but didn't ask further. He just nodded: "Alright."
After Ashton Heath left with Joanna Lawrence, Denver stared at the door in deep thought for a while.

"Ashton, I'm sorry. It's all because of me that you got hurt," Joanna said apologetically after leaving Denver's office. Thinking of the cut on Ashton's palm and the amount of blood he had lost, she felt heartbroken.
He had snatched the fruit knife from Sophie's hand with his bare hands, and the blade that was supposed to stab her had deeply cut into his palm instead.
