Flat-Brim Samurai Chapter 124 - Diagnosis
BEEP BEEP BEEP (What the hell is that noise) Apollo thought. He slowly opened his eyes to see himself on a Recuperation Bed, a bed made to heal patients if drastic measures don't have to be taken. The lights were off in the room but he was still able to see really well, probably due to the passive buff he got from having a large supply of ki. He looked down at his arms and saw a massive slab of scar tissue that went up to 3/4ths of his forearm. He raised his shaking arms, he sent ki through his body to revitalize the tissue, solving the tremors. He undid the latch on the bed, releasing the steam that helped his healing process. Immediately nurses rushed to see what happened. Before they got there, Apollo looked around and realized he was on the intraplanetary military's ship. He stood up and gave his body a much needed stretch, letting out a very audible groan.
FWOOSH The door slid open as nurses consoled him ,"How are you feeling?" Apollo really thought about it ,"My body seems fine, why?" The nurses looked at each other and Apollo immediately squinted his eyes and gave an awkward smile ,"How long have I been out for?" The one on the right said ,"About 2 months." Apollo, although not surprised, breathed out for an extended period of time to show his distaste for the current situation. Apollo asked the nurses ,"You got my phone somewhere?" One of the nurses jumped a little and went to the medical locker. When he opened his phone he saw a litany of messages, ranging from his family to his friends. Most of all from Cias, his best friend. First he texted his family's group chat ,"I have awoken." He thought of introducing himself in a sort of funny way, they were all ecstatic. His mom texted back ,"Make sure to visit us when you can!!!" He texted back ,"Ok mom."
Next he looked at Cias's contact and clicked call, he picked up almost immediately ,"Yo man, finally awake." In literally no time, Cias was there, his sheer speed due to Transcend broke the speed formula. Cias screamed ,"DUDE, I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!!" ,"Missed you too dawg, but could you be a little quieter?" ,"Are you serious right now, fine, I'll be quiet, should I get some tape so I'm not bothering you?" Apollo laughed ,"Dawg C'mon I just woke up." Cias raised his arm and Apollo raised his in return, a clap sound resounded through the ship as a perfect dap up was executed. Apollo's stomach grumbled ,"I'm hungry, let's get something to eat." Cias smiled ,"I know a place if you wanna come." One of the nurses grabbed his shoulder ,"Hold on, you still have to get screenings." Apollo looked at Cias and pressed his lips together, Cias nodded and walked away ,"I'll see you later."
Apollo went into a room with heaps of medical equipment designed for testing the body. Even though he had been in a recuperation bed for a while, testing on his body was still going to be beneficial to see the full brunt of the damage. He went into a machine called a Wave Analyzer, lights activated all over as a reading came out on the machine. The nurse's eyes almost came out of their sockets ,"Sir, you might want to sit down." Apollo came out of the machine and his heartbeat increased in intensity ever so slightly. The nurse looked at him ,"It seems that you might already know that your arms will never be the same, that black energy your friends were talking about seemed to eat at your soul. This means that you have an extreme condition called soul scarring. Meaning that the damage cannot be healed unless the soul is somehow regenerated. You're friend said he might have an Art for that exact case, but this is something that wasn't made with any energy that we've seen before, making his attempt impossible. Both you and Noah Beckett will likely never look the way you looked before."
Apollo zoned out to a wall in the room ,"That doesn't bother me much." The nurse then breathed in ,"That's not all, it seems that because of the massive fight that ensued, your soul seems to be showing signs of dimensional advancement. Everything is born with a certain number of axes depending on which dimension they are born in. In very rare circumstances, people show signs of transcending the outline of where they were born. Cias, Noah and Devan seem to also show signs of this effect. Fighting or training in any capacity would only increase the speed of the process." Apollo looked at the ground, thinking to himself. The nurse said ,"After you ascend, it becomes extremely hard to go back to where you came from. A few people, if ever, have been able to do this, one of those exceptions being Michael Young, leader of our interdimensional military." Apollo glanced up ,"I've seen him before." The nurse's eyebrows rose ,"You have? Well, if you would ever want to return to your family, he's most possibly one of the only people in my knowledge able to do that." The nurse grabbed his arm ,"I would ask you to say goodbye to close family members, you might never see them again."
