Chapter 40 - Win

I made it to the hill above Podvosto, prone behind a log, watching the field below where two players had just started trading bullets.

I watched patiently.

One crouched behind a tree.

The other behind a haystack, peeking hard.

I held my breath. Lined up my shot.

Wind right. Slight downhill.

Pop.

Hit.

Helmet cracked. Not dead. He scrambled, bandaging behind tree.

Second shot—delayed.

Pop.

"Kill Confirmed – Player: Froststep"

I stayed prone. Didn't move. Watched the kill feed.

No one reacted. No one nearby.

Kar98 still had 3 rounds.

I spent the next five minutes moving through pine clusters and snowy ridges, always crouched, always listening.

Looted only what I needed—ammo, boosts.

Avoided every open field. Skirted roads.

"Top 50 players remaining"

I hadn't fired again since that first kill.

The silence was more powerful than any bullet.

A fresh airdrop landed 150 meters ahead in an open snowfield. Obvious trap. But the hill above gave me clean view of the crate.

I lay prone, scope attached.

Waited.

First player approached—careless.

Pop.

Hit. Knocked him behind crate. He didn't even know where it came from.

He tried to peek and run.

Pop.

Kill confirmed.

Second player, smarter, flanked with smoke.

But he misjudged where I was. I waited for his shadow through the fog.

Pop.

Headshot.

3 kills now.

Didn't touch the crate.

Too exposed.

Last 20 Players"The circle is now forcing movement through the snow fields and rail tunnels.

Top 3 kill leaders:**

SilentEagle – 6 kills (sniping from castle ridge)

Blitz_X – 5 kills (close-range, Cosmodrome)

Viper.4x – 3 kills, undetected since start

Players are dropping fast now as the final two zones close into Cement Factory Ridge.

I reached a tall, snow-covered water tower near the cement ridge and climbed slowly.

From the top: wide view.

I lay prone, adjusted the 8x zoom.

I watched three players scramble below, all trying to push toward the zone.

"The wind is low. Still. Easy shots."

Pop.

Pop.

Two knocked. One finished by another player.

I fired once more.

Miss.

Relocated immediately.

Climbed down. Moved west 50 meters to a cliff ledge.

Now five left.

Then three.

Then—

"Top Two Remaining."

I spotted him. Far side. Opposite hill. He had a ghillie suit and a Kar98 too.

"SilentEagle."

Figures.

He spotted me too.

His bullet hit my rock.

I ducked. Boosted. Used smoke as decoy on the left.

Then flanked hard right, downhill.

I peeked from behind a tree.

He fired—missed. Reloading.

My turn.

Pop.

Hit.

He healed. Repositioned behind a ridge.

I looped left now. 80-degree rotation. Got high ground.

He was checking the wrong side.

I took a steady breath. Hold my shot. Waited for the peek.

Peek.

Pop.

"Victory."

"You are the Last Man Standing."

As the final kill notification faded and the snowy battlefield dissolved into digital fragments, the view slowly transitioned back into the stream overlay.

Viper.4x's POV shifted from his in-game camera to his stream interface—chat box, kill log, and donation panel lighting up all at once.

During both matches, he hadn't spoken a word. The audience had watched pure gameplay—clean rotations, smooth looting, precise sniping. Silence had become part of his style.

Now, finally, he spoke.

"Alright… that's back-to-back, CHAT."

The chat immediately exploded.

'Holy—he actually won again!'

'Viper went full ghost mode this time!'

'That final shot was clean. Bro, teach me that drag timing.'

'SilentEagle got deleted!'

'Stream sniper confirmed?? Nah he's just cracked.'

He leaned back in the gaming chair, shaking his head slightly with a half-smile.

"Appreciate it, Zenith. And yeah, that last duel was tight. He had angle advantage, but he peeked wide. That one frame cost him."

The chat feed was non-stop now—emotes flying, donation sounds pinging every few seconds. Clips from the match were already being shared.

One replay window popped up on the side of the stream, showing the 8x headshot that ended the Vikendi match.

Slow motion.

The camera zoomed.

Impact sound echoing through the snowy valley.

The replay view froze mid-shot.

The chat spammed:

"Cleanest Kar98 flick of the season!"

"That man doesn't miss."

He checked his match summary overlay one more time—win streak stats climbing.

"So, I think I'll play one more match later. But before that—quick cooldown."

He leaned back, took a drink, and scrolled through donations and chat highlights.
