She can see it in Adam's eyes. He looks down on her. Even though Adam's the one who just came, why does his eye look at her that way? As if she is just another girl he is fucking, someone he can use as he pleases.
Margarette has built a career that makes her different from the rest of the women in the world. She might have come from a wealthy family, but she is self-made.
Everything that she owns is of her own hard work, so she has an ego the size of a sun.
So how would that make her feel when a young man who has nothing to his name looks down on her? It definitely ruffled up some of her feathers, and now she is even more determined to own Adam.
