"Even, please," his sister begged, her voice breaking slightly. "You have so much potential. Don't throw it away for a girl you hardly know. You can find another way without sacrificing yourself."
He turned to face her, his expression warming as he took her hands in his. "Mirei isn't just any girl; she's the embodiment of hope for our people. If there's a chance to save our world, it's worth the risk. Don't you see? I have to do this. It's my duty."
"But it's also your life!" she cried, squeezing his hands tighter as if she could physically pull him back from his resolve. "You don't have to be a martyr, Even. We can fight together. You don't have to go down this path of self-destruction."
His gaze softened as he studied her, and my heart ached with his struggle. There was so much love there, yet it was tangled with an overwhelming sense of duty—a classic conflict of heart and responsibility.
