Rose PoV
Before we knew it, the afternoon had come. Anis stirred from her nap, her little eyes blinking open as she adjusted to the soft afternoon light filtering through the curtains. I was by her side in an instant, gently rubbing her back as she woke up.
"Hello, sleepyhead," I whispered with a smile, watching as her gaze focused on me, her small mouth curling into a sleepy grin.
Pingui was still nestled under her arm, and she clutched it tightly as she yawned and stretched. "Mama," she murmured, her voice a soft, sleepy melody.
"Did you have a good nap?" I asked, smoothing her hair back from her forehead.
Anis nodded, blinking up at me with those big, curious eyes of hers. "Play?"
I chuckled softly. "Yes, you can play. But first, let's go see everyone. They're all waiting to wish you a happy birthday!"
