"I don't want you to just be careful… Please promise me you'll never do that again." Alexander pleaded as he sat down next to her on the bed. "If that knife stabs you in the wrong place… well, not even the best medical team could save you."
Auralia pursed her lips at his words. She understood where he was coming from. Taking down a person with a weapon was always dangerous. Even if she was trained there were still risks.
However, she couldn't promise not to ever jump in if someone showed signs of wanting to assault Alexander. It was literally her job to protect him. She married him to fulfill that promise to his mother, so she couldn't back out now.
"I can't promise that…" Auralia murmured, gazing down at her arms. "If you saw someone attacking me, wouldn't you jump in to help?"
"Yes, but that's-" Alexander started, but Auralia lifted her head up, giving him a sharp look.
