Chapter 189
The first sight of the hospital was a welcome relief. As we drew closer, I could make out the faint glow of lights in some of the windows, a sign that there were people inside, ready to help.
We quickened our pace. I almost forgot the pains on my leg. The closer we got, the more I could hear the hum of a generator, the distant voices of medical staff, and the occasional sound of an ambulance siren. It was a symphony of hope, a promise of healing.
As we reached the entrance, a figure emerged from the shadows, a security guard with a weary face and a stern expression. He raised a hand, signaling us to stop.
"Hold it right there," he said, his voice rough.
Dafa stepped forward, his voice calm but firm. "We need medical assistance," he said. "She is a doctor here. She is injured and needs immediate attention." He gestured towards my leg, which was now throbbing with a dull ache.
