"Hey." Tang Yin greeted a young disciple wearing the clothes of the Inner Sect. "What's your name?"
The disciple stopped and returned the greeting. "Who are you?" he asked, without answering, and looked at his clothes. Since he wasn't wearing sect clothing, he assumed he was a disciple of the outer sect; after all, the sect was no longer accepting visitors.
"Do you belong to the Outer Sect? These stairs lead to the Inner Sect; unless you have unfinished business there, you should avoid going so you don't get scolded," he said.
He didn't give the matter much thought. He didn't think anyone would want to be friends with him these days, so he simply turned around and kept walking.
"And your name?" Tang Yin was perplexed that he had not received an answer to his question.
