Quickly, the school day came to an end. For Bakugo—or rather Jhonas, who had already completed higher education—it was mostly boring, like asking someone who already knows how to read and write to learn the alphabet again.
The only new things for him were history classes and the ones related to Heroes.
Right now, Bakugo was walking down a small isolated road about 45 minutes from his house, GPS app open on his phone. In front of him stood a massive abandoned industrial site.
It was a place Bakugo had rediscovered thanks to the memories of the real Bakugo—when he was a child, he had sometimes wandered near this area.
With some knowledge of the future, I clearly can't just sit around waiting for the plot to begin. I'll use these two years for a proper "training arc."
Climbing the fence with agility, Bakugo landed on his feet like the acrobats Jhonas had seen on TV.
As expected, people in this world have clearly superior physical traits.
And Bakugo is naturally above them all.
Spotting a hollow concrete pillar, Bakugo hid his bag and jacket inside, then turned to explore the abandoned zone.
Before his eyes lay half-destroyed buildings, factories, massive pipes, and all kinds of empty structures. The eerie silence sent a chill down his spine, but Bakugo's personality quickly smothered that chill with absolute confidence in handling any situation.
This place is perfect. Far from everything, I can use my explosions without anyone calling the heroes or the police. And the area's perfect for parkour in real-world conditions.
It's no coincidence that Bakugo chose this place for training. With his knowledge of the story, he knows what kind of training will benefit him most. Unlike others who can train casually at home, explosion powers are clearly not suited for daily use.
The answer is: an isolated place.
"Damn it, Bakugo's Quirk is useless outside of blowing things up. Honestly, even Mineta's Quirk is more practical day-to-day…"
Bakugo groaned with a sigh.
At this point, sighing had become a habit.
Taking out a notebook and pen he'd prepared beforehand, Bakugo sat on an old pipe that was surprisingly clean.
On the notebook, written in French—Jhonas's native language—were the words: "Even if the face changes, the heart remains the same."
It was a journal Jhonas had decided to use to record everything he knew about the future and about himself, to never forget who he was.
Even though it was in French, Jhonas had also encoded the notebook with knowledge only someone from another world would understand, as an extra safety measure.
This notebook is probably a mistake. If All For One finds it and understands it, the future will be doomed… But it's also essential if I want to stay sane.
On a new page, Bakugo quickly wrote in Japanese: "Training Program! Goal #1!"
It was both an extra layer of security and a real training plan—the very reason he'd come to this place.
Currently, there are three areas I can focus on—no, actually, four.
Jumping up, Bakugo raised both hands toward the sky.
First: strengthen my explosion power.
"DIE!!"
BOOM!
A massive explosion burst in the sky. Birds scattered from the trees, panicked by the noise.
…Even Bakugo stood speechless at the destructive power he now held.
"...Is it even necessary to train at this level…?"
Shaking his head with irony, Bakugo quickly thought of future fights to reignite his resolve.
To improve the strength of his explosions, Bakugo had decided to follow the same training as in the anime: use the Quirk like a muscle to strengthen it.
So I'll be doing lots of big explosions without breaks—not hard to picture.
Second: develop special techniques.
Since Bakugo in the series already had a full arsenal of moves, I'll start by copying those and getting used to them. Once I've mastered them, I'll think of some original ones.
Third: physical conditioning, combat simulations, and parkour.
Bakugo placed his hands behind him and began to run, using explosions to propel himself forward. He then leapt using a blast and landed smoothly on the pipe he'd been sitting on earlier.
Physical training and parkour are essential—but as for combat simulation, I can't improve much on my own.
However, it's mentioned in the series that Bakugo relies heavily on instinct in fights. And based on my agile landing just now, I know I can still trust mine.
I thought about taking martial arts classes, but in the end, those would just become invisible chains that unconsciously limit me.
In a world where superpowers reign, traditional martial arts aren't very effective. Against a villain with super strength, for instance, a karate master doesn't stand much chance. It's like pitting a martial artist against a bulldozer—no matter the skill, victory is unlikely.
It's more effective for me to develop and imagine my own fighting style, using pro heroes as reference.
Lastly, the fourth focus area will be the simplest: analyzing Quirks and fighting styles of heroes and villains to envision tactics and countermeasures.
The training program will be divided across four days:
Day 1: Quirk training
Day 2: Physical training
Day 3: Special technique training
Day 4: Rest and Quirk analysis
Smiling in satisfaction, Bakugo packed up his notebook and headed home, whistling.
From now on, I'm going to give it everything I've got. The future looks tough, but I'm strangely excited about it. A smile split Bakugo's face as he opened the door to his house…
"YOU'RE GETTING HOME NOW?!?!"
Bakugo quickly closed the door behind him as his mother's scream echoed. A moment later, sweat beaded on his forehead and his smile cracked.
"If she kills me… will I turn back into Jhonas?"
"BAAAAKUUUUUGOOOOO!!"
