USA 12-6 Japan.
Coach Copley claps his hands.
"Don't let it bog you down, Sean! Keep plowing those spikes and you'll find the weak spots eventually." Sean turns and nods as Coach Copley sits back on the bench. Rubbing his chin. 'Ever since Yuki Inasji stepped onto the court, everyone's been giving it their everything… Kyle, Max, Tyler, and even Sean… but all that would be for not if we weren't blessed to have such a prodigious setter like Kurai as our control center'
Kurai and Sean metaphorically stand back to back.
'It's like Kurai and Sean are two sides of the coin with how in sync they are right now'
Sato steps forward, tossing the ball and slamming it over the net. Kyle jumped back and brought it up high. Kurai stepped forward and exhaled. 'Sean's been going point for point with Japan's captain, who just shut Sean down… luckily, Sean doesn't seem agitated like he would normally be, I can use that' Kurai glances around, instantly pulling in information.
Kyle steps back.
Tyler and Max watch for loose balls and spiking opportunities.
Jordan watches the net up close.
Sean's aura overpowers the court as he rushes up to the net for a spike.
Japan's team, Yuki, Sato, and another rush to block Sean.
Kurai jumps and sets the ball. Sean swings but doesn't hit. Max jumps from the backcourt, slamming the ball over the center of the net with no blockers. Kurai smirking and fist bumping Max.
USA 13-6 Japan.
A whistle blows again as the arena roars.
"Japan is in a hard spot right now! They've even decided to call their second technical timeout of the game!"
"What strategy will they shift to?"
Japan's coach stands amidst the players.
"What's going on out there? You guys are being absolutely stomped!" Yuki sips some water and exhales.
"No matter who we commit our block to, there's always someone else there to spike with no blockers" Japan's coach nods.
"Okay then, what we'll do is we flip our focus to their Setter, their number 19… follow his sets in a bunch shift formation, got it? Stick to a strong offense while changing your blocking style, shake their setter up" the team nods.
"Yes Sir!"
Jordan tosses the ball high. Floating it over the net as the Japanese libero receives it. The setter jumping forward and setting down the center to their middle blocker, Takeshi Mori. Takeshi slams the ball over the net, past Kurai's last second wall. Kyle jumped over to receive the free ball. Kurai running alongside the net. Yuki and Takeshi watch Kurai from the other side of the net. 'Oh, they've shifted to tracking me, then I'll spoon feed the ball to you' Kurai sets the ball across the court. Jordan silently ran up to the net and jumped. Swinging to hit as the wall of Yuki and Takeshi appears. Jordan exhales and tips the ball over the block.
"Jordan just tipped the ball over a 6 and a half foot block!"
The Japanese libero jumps over and pancakes the ball with an exhale. The setter turned around and set the ball to the middle of the net again.
"MINE!" Takeshi runs up to the net and jumps. Kurai bonnet jum;ping to block, but watching from the other side of the net. Takeshi smirking and spiking the ball without any blockers. Kyle received the ball with a smirk.
"Predictable!" Takeshi grits his teeth and rushes to block as Kurai lifts his hands to set. 'Make their star blocker trip up with his non-blocked spike, dismantling him… then, while he's crumbling…' Kurai glances right. Yuki and Takeshi rush to block Sean. Kurai tapped the ball over the net where no one stood. 'And destroy their entire system from inside' The arena freezes.
USA 14-6 Japan
"Of all the times to pull out a setter dump… KURAI VLAST DESTROYS JAPAN'S BLOCKERS!!"
