Amden gave the wooden door a gentle push and stepped inside. The conference room, which occupied the entire floor, was humongous in size.
At the centre of the expansive room stood a large circular table. From the choice of wood to the flawless finish, every inch of the table exuded luxury and craftsmanship. It was something befitting to the status of nine SSS Rank people who sat around it.
Around the table, at some distance away from it, benches had been arranged on an inclined platform on all four sides, with deliberate gaps between them. These benches were intended for additional attendees during larger council meetings.
Nine chairs, crafted from the same exquisite wood and polished to the same perfection as the central table, were arranged around it. Or rather, this was the general arrangement. Today, however, there was a tenth chair.
