Azure Cloud Continent: Cloud's End Cliff
Being
chased all around by everyone after I failed to avenge my master and got my
lover killed by my hands, as an escape, maybe I should have listened to Su
Ling'er's pleas to lie low. Even if our master died, I guess the saying
"regret comes later" is true after all.
I gave
everything I had, only to be cornered and forced to jump off this cliff. I've
been falling for a while now, or maybe I'm already long dead, and this falling
in pitch-black is my punishment for the blood on my hands.
I
wonder if I will be reborn or stuck here for eternity. If I do get reborn, I
hope I can be happy, just like before there was blood everywhere.
As I
fall, I see a small light of purple color, and as I continue to fall, the light
becomes clearer—that it's not one light, but a sea of glowing flowers. Even
though I can see the flowers, I don't think they will help me since I'm still
falling. I guess I can take comfort that I will have some flowers if I die.
Then,
right before my vision goes dark, I catch sight of a quiet silhouette—an
ethereal young girl with glowing, multi-colored eyes, silently watching me fall
from within the sea of flowers
???
My head
spins violently as consciousness slowly returns. It takes me a moment to
process my surroundings—the sea of glowing purple flowers I had fallen toward
is nowhere to be seen. Instead, I find myself lying inside a room, a sight that
only makes my already throbbing head spin even faster.
The
situation becomes even worse as memories I certainly didn't have before flood
my mind. Or are they mine? Whatever they are, they overlap with my previous
memories like those of a reincarnated person returning. Ah, I really need to
let this dizziness fade. I can't think straight with my head spinning like
this, so I lie back down in bed for now to let it pass.
Around
twenty minutes pass, and the spinning in my head finally subsides, returning to
normal—or at least as normal as I can feel, because this situation is
definitely not fine, physically or mentally. Feeling off, I check my body and
realize the Sky Poison Pearl has integrated into me. It immediately detects and
purifies a hidden poison within my new body. At this point, I still can't tell
if this is a true reincarnation or a possession, but I can only hope it's the
former.
While I
am still lost in thought, the door opens, and someone enters, calling out to me
enthusiastically.
"Little
Che, you're finally awake!"
"Little
Aunt..." I say warily as she approaches to check on me.
"How
delightful! Your temperature is almost back to normal. You nearly scared me to
death. Xiao Che, are you okay? Tell me if you feel uncomfortable
anywhere."
I nod.
"I think I am physically fine now, Little Aunt."
"Rest
here for a while; I'll go tell your grandpa that you're awake. Today is your
big day, after all! When you fainted earlier, Grandpa almost went crazy and
personally ran out to find a doctor."
She
leaves spectacularly fast right after saying that.
As she
departs, I finally accept that this must be a reincarnation, where my memories
were only unlocked when I was poisoned. I can only hope this acceptance
reflects reality and isn't just wishful thinking. As for the poisoning
itself... I think I can guess why it happened. It's almost certainly a case of
jealousy—all because I am about to be married today.
