Chapter 51~
~Cassie's POV 🌀🌀🌀🌀
I never believed I would be so happy to be back here. It felt like I was missing home. And now I'm back, it feels good.
"Thank you both for the information. You may both report back to your dorms." Sage's Mom said to Jake and I after we told her everything that transpired.
"Is that all, what is the plan? There's a war coming." Jake said to her.
"I'm well aware of that fact Jake. More than you can imagine, but right now, you've just returned and you need to rest. Both of you. Especially you Cassie. So please, back to your dorms." She said sounding annoyed.
"Didn't you hear the fact that they might have an upper hand here? They have monsters, plus hundreds of them with extra powers, that most of us here have no idea of what they could even be!"Jake raved.
"That's enough Jake." She commanded him.
"Extra powers I'm pretty sure you know so much about, since giving both your children have them." Jake added that last part and my eyes widened at him for his outburst.
I thought we weren't supposed to say anything about that.
Plus it confirmed my suspicion about Sage having one too.
"What did you say?" The principal asked him looking stunned to hear that.
"And yet you think what we need to do is rest." Jake said lastly.
"How did you know about my children and how many of you knows about that?" She asked him and looked from him to me and back to him.
"I've known since we were kids. Didn't think anything much about it. Cassie just found out recently." Jake said to her.
"How did you find out?" She asked him.
Jake paused for a while before answering the question.
"By accident I guess." He replied.
"So just the two of you knows this then. You haven't told anyone else?" She asked to confirm.
Jake nodded.
Good thing he didn't implicate Madeline too.
"Okay. Thank you for sharing that with me. Now, is there anymore secrets you know about that you would like to tell me?" She asked us.
I looked at Jake wondering if he was going to say anything about his father but he didn't so I kept quiet too about what I learnt about my parents as well.
"I guess not. Back to your dorms. I mean it this time. Now." The principal commanded with authority.
She is very intimidating when she's serious, what I'm I saying, she's intimidating all the time.
"Fine. Come on Cassie." Jake said to me and stood up from the chair.
Before I left I quickly tried to get into the principal's mind but it was so difficult.
Her mind is so much stronger.
But atleast I got a glimpse.
{Mustn't... know.... about....m} "Cassidy you too child." She said to me and that cut off the connection to her mind I was getting.
I smiled slightly and followed Jake closely behind.

"Hey are you okay?" I asked Jake as he was walking me to my dorm.
"I'm fine Cassie." He replied.
"I wouldn't be. Not after seeing who I saw after so many years." I said to him.
"Yeah. About that, thanks for not telling the principal and everyone else about that part." Jake said to me and smiled a little.
"Of course. It's not my place to tell." I said.
"Besides I heard something way more exciting to me." I said to him and smirked.
"And what would that be?" He asked and raised his eyebrows.
"You love me." I declared.
"I do?" He questioned.
"Yep. Heard it with my own ears. You can't deny it." I said to him. He gave me a shy smile and recovered quickly.
""You should get inside and have some decent rest. I'll come find you later." He said to me and nodded.
"Okay okay okay. Thanks for walking me here and also for the rescue." I appreciated him.
"You're welcome. Go on in." He said to me and I nodded.
I opened the door really really slowly, contemplating the crazy thought that was running through my mind.
I finally came to a decision. I'm gonna do it.
I closed back the door and turned around to run into Jake's arms.
"What are you doi....." I cut Jake off by planting a soft kiss on his lips. He seemed unresponsive to my kiss until I tried to pull away from him.
He forcefully pulled me closer to himself and gave me a deep hot kiss.
Neither of us wanted to pull away from the kiss until the door flung open.
"Ohhhh my God. I'm so sorry." Stacy Madeline's friend said apologetically.
"Heard the door and wanted to confirm if it was you. And it is you. And you." She said to us awkwardly and coughed.
"I'll see you later Cassie. Go on in." Jake said to me ignoring Stacy's commentaries.
He left me there and made his way out of the girls dorm hall.
"Oh my Goodness! Double gasps!!!" Stacy said excitedly and ran to hug me.
"The first gasp is for seeing you again. I'm so glad you're okay." She said and patted my back.
"Thank you Stacy. It's good to see you too." I said to her and smiled.
"And nowwwww to the second gasp, You and Jake kissed!!!!" She said so loudly.
"Shhhh, keep it down. And how about we go Inside first." I said to her and Shaked my head and we both made our way inside the room.
My mind was still lingering on the feel of his lips on my lips. It was so much better than I had imagined.
"Oh hi Cassie! Are you done with the principal?" Madeline asked me once she came out of the shower.
"Yeah." I replied.
I looked at Stacy and she had her lips pursed. Like she was dying to say something.
"What's going on? Why does Stacy look like she's got some tea to spill?" Madeline asked suspiciously.
I let out a heavy breath. "I need to go take a shower now." I say to Madeline and gave Stacy a look and she smiled sheepishly.
"Okay?" Madeline replied still obviously suspicious.

After a few hours of sleep, short I might say, there was an alarming sound of Bell ringing loudly across the whole school.
"What the hell?" Madeline rolled off her bed.
"What is that crazy loud sound?" Stacy asked with sleepy eyes while rolling around the small tent she slept in late last night.
"I have no idea but whatever it is, it doesn't sound good." I said and groaned.
"Okay! I'm up. We better hurry up and go find out what that alarm is for." Madeline said as she hopped out of her bed with her hands on her hips.
"Shotgun on the bathroom." Madeline said and entered the bathroom to freshen up.
I groaned and relaxed back on my bed.

The three of us went to the fields and joined the other earth element group.
There was a large crowd present already.
Everyone from each element in their uniforms. All except me.
I scanned for Jake in the side of fire elements but couldn't see him.
Maybe he's not yet here.
I saw Sage and Damon standing close together with other water elements.
"Everyone welcome.. I know you all are wondering why you were disturbed from your sleep this early. But the situation calls for it. Sleep is the least of our problems now, for we have a much bigger threat coming to us." The principal addressed everyone.
"All these years of learning how to fight in a combat, how to defend and attack, How to control your elements, I really do hope you all are proficient enough now, because it is time to put all those lessons into practice." She continued.
"There is....a war. Coming to us. Right here in our comfort zone. Tomorrow." She announced and the whole school started murmuring and mumbling.
"Wait what? Tomorrow??" Madeline questioned, not believing her ears.
"How is that possible?" I asked myself.
"We got the Intel in the early hours of this morning. Our enemies are planning on attacking tomorrow! . So we have to prepare! Now more than ever. I am sorry children that this is happening so fast, faster than we thought, but it is inevitable. The war was always going to happen, wether now or later. I guess something must have quickened the process." The principal said and her eyes met mine for a few seconds before she looked away.
"Now I know we are all confused and scared because of this news, but remember who you all are. Remember your parent's bravery and the stories of their greatness. Most of them might not be here but they would wish for you all to put in your very best, and win this war, For them, and for yourselves." She continued.
"But we're not prepared enough!" Someone said from the crowd and the rest concurred.
"Yes you are. You are prepared. I see you all everyday and I know what you're capable of. And I know you are prepared. You were all born prepared. So don't doubt yourselves." The principal said to everyone.
"What about the monsters? How are we supposed to fight that. They're so much stronger and faster." Someone else said.
"Not faster than us air lads." Someone muttered from the air element tribe.
"We will find a way to deal with those ones. You do not need to worry." She responded to them.
"What about the rumors some of us heard last night. About these extra powers they have?" Someone else asked.
"We all know that having extra powers is a taboo, it is not right, it corrupts and it is evil. And that evil is what they want to use to attack us, but it is fine. I know all about that and I know there is a weakness for each power. We will all have the knowledge of their weaknesses before the end of today. So no need to fear." So explained.
How could she talk about that freely and with such hate as if her children didn't have these same forbidden powers.
What a hypocrite.
I looked over to Damon and Sage. They both had their eyes fixed on their mother, the principal.
I kinda feel sorry for them.
I looked over to the fire clan and saw Cara focusing attentively to the principal but couldn't see Jake around. Maybe he was standing far back.
"Now children, today you must all train harder, learn anything new you feel you're lacking at, connect with each other and learn to work together. No matter the element tribe or clan you're from. And it all starts now. Everyone mix! Mix yourselves! Do not stand close to your fellow element, make sure the person standing close to you is of another element. Quickly mix!" The principal commanded.
Everyone reluctantly started moving, the colour alignment scattered as students started changing positions.
Madeline held my arms closely.
"You're a different element. We should stick together." She said to me and I nodded.
Stacy gave us a sad face before moving to the water element corner.
So did all of Madeline's friends.
"You're all one family. Water, Fire, Earth, Air... And the fifth element." The principal said and our eyes met the second time for a split second.
"We should all stick united as one. We should support each other, we should protect each other. Because to win this war, we need to put aside all sentiments and bad blood, we need to be united." She continued.
"Now that we've understood what is at hand, let's get to work. Immediately." The principal finished her sermon and got down from the podium.
"Hi Cassie. Are you okay?" Phoebe asked me and I turned around to see her at my back.
"Hey! Didn't realize you were behind me. Anyways I'm fine. And thank you. I heard about everything you did to help me. I'm grateful." I said to her.
"It was my pleasure. I'm glad you're okay now. Although we might not be okay by Tomorrow but hey, we have still have today." She said to me and smiled.
"Yeah. This is all my fault. Somehow my kidnap made them more ever ready to go to battle." I say sadly.
"That's not true. You heard the principal, the war was inevitable. It was always going to happen. So don't blame yourself." Phoebe said to me and smiled.
"Who is blaming herself for a war that has always been inevitable? According to my mom." Sage said as she joined us in our side.
"Hey. Are you okay?" I asked her and she gave me a blank stare.
"Why wouldn't I be? I'm not the one blaming myself." She said flatly.
"Right. Good to know." I say to her and Shaked my head.
What was I thinking asking her how she was doing when she is a mean emo girl with no emotions whatsoever.
"Cassie!!" I heard Cara yell out my name and she rushed to hug me.
"Oh my gosh, you're okay. I'm so glad you're okay." She said as she was hugging me.
"Yeah I'm okay. Thank you for the rescue, I heard." I said to her and smiled.
Madeline told me all about their little adventure, and plans of rescuing me last night. And everyone that was involved in it.
"Yeah it's okay. I hardly contributed anything." Cara said to me.
"Wow Cassie, didn't realize you and this one here are now besties. I guess it's because of your thing with Jake and all." Madeline said to me sounding annoyed.
Did she really have to mention Jake?
Shouldn't have told her about that kiss.
"Speak of the devil." Phoebe said looking in a specific direction, I followed her eyes and saw Jake standing not so far from us looking directly at me.
Jake he's here.
