"He must have been held up by something. Once he gets back, he'll stand up for you. With Lucas Hutt backing you, Madam Hutt isn't much of a threat. Don't lose heart," Katte Martin gently reassured Flynn Taylor.
Flynn nodded vigorously: "I won't give in so easily. No matter what methods my aunt uses to pressure me, I won't leave Lucas."
One day, she would marry into the Hutts family, and even have Madam Hutt willingly accept her as a daughter-in-law.
This small setback was nothing.
Seeing her like this, Katte finally felt relieved.
"That's the spirit. You and Lucas will face many more obstacles in the future. If you back off now, how will you endure what's to come?"
That night, Katte decided to stay with Flynn.
She figured that no matter how urgent Lucas' matter was, as soon as he found out Flynn had been fired, he would rush over to be by her side.
However, they waited day and night but still saw no sign of Lucas.
