A few days had passed since Alex began his intense training at the Mount of Law.
At the peak of a roaring waterfall, he sat cross-legged in deep meditation, eyes closed, body steady, as energy slowly flowed into him from the environment. His white hair gradually began turning blue, strands glowing faintly under the sunlight.
From below, Ranpo and Fugaku observed him in silence.
Ranpo smiled to himself.
"Took you long enough to get to the final step," he thought. "Now you've learned how to renew your energy. All that's left… is to master the art of absorbing energy from your surroundings."
Alex's inner thoughts echoed in his quiet mind.
"Alright… Three days to learn how to charge up my energy for long periods of times… Used two days to understand how to renew it... Now, today's the day I learn to absorb energy from the world around me. It's going to take time, but I'll get it done."
Fugaku folded his arms, watching intently.
"You're boy seems to be getting the hang of it," he said to Ranpo. "He reminds me of Kazuma—sharp features, sharper intellect. Honestly, you were just like him when you were his age."
Ranpo chuckled. "You don't say. He's got that fiery determination—definitely a sore loser who wants to be stronger than anyone else. That stubbornness? It's Kazuma through and through. But that attitude? That's all Misaki, back when they were his age."
Fugaku laughed. "By the way, Ranpo—how's Kojin? Haven't heard a thing from him since he became a lord."
Ranpo waved it off. "Oh don't be like that. Before now, we all saw about three years back. Remember? But either way, he's s fine. Just buried in paperwork and endless conferences with other countries and stuff."
Fugaku smirked. "He must have turned out to be quite the busy man over time."
Meanwhile, Alex continued meditating—two days and two nights straight, with no signs of exhaustion. His body absorbed more and more energy around him, and his hair had now completely turned blue, radiating a gentle aura of power.
"Yo, kid," Ranpo called out. "It's been a week now. You look like you've mastered this stuff. C'mon, let's see how far you've come."
But Alex didn't respond—still deep in meditation.
With a smirk, Ranpo summoned a glowing mallet and hurled it at him.
In an instant, Alex's body moved on its own—dodging the mallet reflexively as it hit the wall behind him. His eyes shot open.
"Hey! Why'd you do that? I wasn't done yet!"
He jumped down from the top of the waterfall, landing gracefully on the rocks below.
Ranpo crossed his arms, nodding. "Looks like you've mastered the Law of Energy completely."
Alex looked at his reflection in the water and blinked.
"…My hair's blue? Wait, what? Why?!"
Ranpo explained, "The Law of Energy is a state that amplifies your physical strength and energy level by 40 times. It affects parts of your body—sometimes your eyes, sometimes your hair. It's a sign that you've entered the form or you're using a certain level of power."
Alex's eyes lit up.
"So you're saying... my strength, speed, energy, and even my senses are enhanced 40× in this state?!"
"Exactly," Ranpo said. "Normally, your travel speed's not very fast even tho you're capable of moving hundreds of times the speed of sound. Although your flash-steps make up for it. But in this state, you can easily keep up with extremely high speeds without worrying about stamina or wastage of energy. Your sensing abilities are enhanced too—you can feel attacks from ten miles away. And you've developed light-speed reaction time."
Alex's eyes sparkled with childlike joy.
"Whoa... So I'm, like, super strong now?! That's awesome!"
Ranpo laughed. "You're basically at B-rank level right now. You've come a long way, im surprised."
Suddenly, both Alex and Ranpo paused. A chill ran down their spines. A beam of light shot out of nowhere—slicing through the air toward them.
Fugaku stepped forward, his hand glowing with energy. He caught the beam mid-air and deflected it, redirecting it into the mountains outside *Mount Law*. A thunderous explosion followed as several peaks were obliterated.
"We have company," Fugaku said grimly. "Be sharp."
Alex's eyes darted around. "What was that?! Where did that come from?!"
Fugaku narrowed his eyes. "I don't know. But the presence I'm sensing... is powerful."
A portal opened in the sky above, light bursting through it. A woman descended from it gracefully.
"Hey Ranpo~ It's been a while," she said with a mischievous grin. "Looks like you're in the middle of something. Am I disturbing?"
Ranpo's expression turned serious.
"…What the hell? What are you doing here? More so, what are you planning this time, Olivia?"
Alex stepped forward. "You know her?"
"Stay back, Alex," Ranpo ordered firmly.
Olivia—real name Ukina—smiled gently. "Sorry, but I've got something important to take care of."
She raised her hand and summoned a glowing white stone—the Millennia Stone.
Ranpo's eyes widened. Without hesitation, he summoned a massive metal wall, encasing himself, Alex, and Fugaku.
The moment the stone pulsed, it unleashed an enormous explosion. The Mount of Law was swallowed by white light and utterly annihilated.
As the metal wall dissolved, a massive shadow loomed overhead. A divine creature flapped its majestic wings above the ruined landscape.
Alex looked up, stunned. "What the hell… That thing is gigantic!"
Ranpo stared grimly. "That's the Divine Beast of the Wind… God Eagle."
"Oh my," Fugaku muttered. "This is going to be a problem."
"Alex, stay back," Rampo said. "Fugaku and I will handle this."
Ukina raised her hand again. "By the way," she smirked, "I've sent one of my subordinates to destroy the city. Looks like you've got a little more than just bad luck."
Alex's expression twisted in shock and anger.
"What have you done to the city?! Answer me!"
"Calm down," Ranpo said. "Alex, listen. There's a lot I want to explain to you—but I can't right now. When this is over, I'll tell you everything."
He placed a hand on Alex's shoulder.
"The reason I trained you in the Law of Energy… is so you could be strong enough to protect the things you care about. Now go. Head to the city—and stop whoever's behind this."
Alex clenched his fists and nodded.
"I can't just leave you behind. But i won't let you down either."
He jumped into the air—vanishing with a speed far greater than anything he'd ever displayed before.
As he disappeared into the clouds, Rampo looked at Fugaku.
"You should run too."
Fugaku smirked. "Have you forgotten who I am, boy? I might be old—but I'm not weak. I was the lord of that city once, wasn't I?"
Ranpo grinned. But before they could speak further, Ukina raised her arm.
"Sorry, dear friend," she said softly. "But this is where it ends for you."
Giant beams of light in the form of arrows began forming in the sky.
"Oh… and nice to meet you again, Fugaku-sensei."
Meanwhile, in the city…
Under the shade of a tree, Deo and Son were lounging lazily.
But then—something shifted. They both looked up.
A black figure hovered in the sky, radiating malicious energy. The figure slowly descended, his entire body transformed into a crimson-armored mechanical form, with red lightning dancing across it.
It was Bara.
He smirked down at the city.
"Demon boy… Here I come."
He raised his hand and charged a devastating beam of energy—one powerful enough to obliterate everything in its path.
As the attack fired, buildings were reduced to ash. Entire streets vanished due to the intense energy blast.
Raquel was immediately alarmed. Noticing the devastation as she was walking on the street, she quickly raised a barrier of crystal around herself and several nearby civilians—saving them from certain death of the powerfull beam of energy.
Serena, Sukuna, and Luck looked up just in time "WHAT THE...?", they exclaimed in shock.
But it was too late.
The beam hit them.
The city was engulfed in light.
And everything… was destroyed and turned into ash.
End of Chapter.
