The sky was a blur of light and destruction as Sorata and the angel clashed at breakneck speeds, their bodies weaving through the sky as they hurled devastating attacks at one another. The angel's voice rang through the chaos, sharp and condescending.
"Your attacks are weak and trivial," she scoffed. "You're burning yourself from the inside out with all that self destructive power of yours. Why do you harbor such hate and spite?"
Sorata's expression remained cold, his body crackling with unstable purple energy as he continued dodging her celestial blasts.
"The robot guy said the same thing", he started to recall the fight he had with Sughi three years back. He smirked and replied "It's none of your business. Now get out of my way."
Gathering a ball of destructive energy, he hurled it at her with ferocious intent. But the angel effortlessly canceled it out. Her gaze pierced through him, unwavering.
"Those driven by hatred alone have no place in this world. They should be eliminated. Either by themselves, or a force greater than them."
With that, she summoned radiant energy arrows and unleashed a volley at Sorata. Sorata while flying at lightning speed, was dodging all over the air, and countered with compact bullets of destructive energy, the sky exploding into a thunderous smokescreen.
From the veil of smoke, Sorata burst forth only to see the angel already charging a brilliant beam of light "Uhh!" Sorata exclaimed in shock. The attack fired — missing him by inches but decimating the mountains behind with an insane explosion. Shock and frustration danced across Sorata's face.
"I almost didn't dodge that. I need to keep up or I'm done for."
He surged his power, a massive flare of destructive energy wrapping around his frame.
"I'm not gonna die to some dumbass cosplayer!"
The angel rained down her "Stella Spears" in rapid fire, each glowing with lethal intent. Sorata, flying at hypersonic speeds, weaved through them with desperate precision.
"These spears move with lightning," she called out, "and can destroy mountains with ease!"
Sorata gritted his teeth and fired volleys of purple energy orbs, countering the spears. He muttered to himself, resisting the urge to go full power with a deviant smirk on his face.
"I'll keep my distance… I can't afford to risk it… I'll land a devastating blow with one potent strike. I don't need to go all berserk mode for this!"
Suddenly, the angel closed in with stunning speed, swinging her sword with divine precision. The two danced in the sky at insane speeds, blasting attacks all over the place. Their attacks fell like lightning, each strike from both fighters was more than enough to kill each other. The angel struck with purpose. Sorata dodged with fury and countered back.
"People like you," she said coldly, "are weaklings hiding behind their anger."
Those words pierced deeper than any blade on Sorata. A memory surfaced—Kojin, yelling at him, calling him a weakling. Sorata's eyes flared wide in rage.
"AHHAHA FUCK OFF!"
A storm of destructive energy exploded from him, blanketing the sky. With a wicked grin resembling that of a demon, he hurled wave after wave of purple annihilation.
"You want to know why I'm like this?! Because I refuse to go through the same mental breakdown again! I had to become stronger—to kill the bastard who made me suffer!". Sorata yelled all this with a beastly and terrifying grin on his face, his destructive energy even made him look much more terrifying.
The angel, unrelenting, emerged from the blast.
"Then I will end your misery."
She summoned "Orion's Light", a colossal beam of divine energy that carved through the horizon. Just by throwing it, the attack was able to obliterate mountains and hurling Sorata into the earth like a meteor. Dazed and scorched from his own power and that of his enemy, he coughed and looked up in disbelief.
"That… that attack... was it light-speed?"
Descending gracefully, the angel confirmed.
"It moves ten times faster than light. Only those at S-rank or beyond can hope to contend with such force. Some A and B-rankers may reach light-speed or faster than those speeds, but its a rare concept. But even then, the gap between you and I is clear."
She readied another Orion's Light.
"You've killed too many on your path. As an angel of the Creator, I cannot allow your existence to persist."
As the beam closed in, Sorata trembled with his arms stretched out like he wanted to deflect the beam, he refused to accept death as the beam overtook him.
"No… I'm not going to die. Not yet… I have too... I have to survive."
Visions of his younger self flooded his mind—training alone in the forest, blasting trees and monsters, his black energy turning purple while he slowly started to build up a sadistic and chaotic smile. He recalled his vow.
"No matter what… I'll kill Kojin…"
The beam struck. The explosion was cataclysmic, vaporizing mountains, shaking fallen cities, and splitting the skies. The ground trembled. Silence followed.
Among the smoke and ash, the angel descended to retrieve the Millennia Stone, now resting on the ruined earth "All in all. Everything that has flesh shall turn to ash!", she said with a cold look on her face. But a voice cut through the silence, a deep and firm voice.
"If that was supposed to be an attack, you must be joking."
Her eyes widened. Sorata stood—burned, battered, but alive. One hand scorched black from absorbing the blast. He looked at it with a twisted smile.
"I don't know how… but it's like my body won't let me die. It's funny coz I've made up my mind for death. With a body like this, I'm bound to kill myself in a Blaze of glory. Don't you think?"
His aura ignited. Purple destructive energy surged with terrifying intensity, the force of it obliterating everything in a wide radius.
"Well right now.....All I know… is that you're in my way. And anyone in my way—dies."
Manic laughter echoed through the sky as he rocketed upward. The angel responded with Divine Light hurled at Sorata. Sorata flew faster than before and countered with a brutal blast. His energy now could incinerate an entire city just by walking.
He tore through the air and struck her down with a speed she couldn't match. His punches shattered and burned everything in its way. The angel struggled to block Sorata's maniacal attack.
"He's… not human… How can hate give someone this much power?", the angel questioned with difficulty.
Then came the punch. One final strike of destructive energy. So powerful, it erased mountains. Sorata punched the angel into the sky and started to blitz her around the sky at an insane speed. Each explosion that was caused by Sorata was enough to nuke countless mountains in mere seconds. Sorata was laughing like a madman, he was the current embodiment of a psychotic rampage. Sorata flew towards the angel who was falling towards the ground, he gathered a devastating amount of destructive energy all over his arm. The destructive energy formed a claw similar to that of a beast "NOW!! GET BURNED!!" Sorata exclaimed like a maniac as he unleashed his devastating land wiping attack at his opponent. This caused a devastating explosion of purple destructive energy that wiped the land below them, as well as the mountains in the area.
The smoke cleared.
Sorata stood above the angels ruined form, burned but victorious. He gazed at her with chilling calm.
"You want to know what I hate?"
The angel coughed, barely conscious. One eyes was burned and barely able to open up the other one had almost lost its colour.
"I… don't know…" The angel responded.
He raised his hand to her face.
"I hate people who never try to understand others… and people who look down on the weak."
A blinding flash. Purple annihilation consumed her with devastating force and power. Nothing remained.
The fight was over.
Sorata turned, breathing heavily. His body broken and burned up, he had burn marks and boiling blood all over his body. On the ground lay the Millennia Stone.
He picked it up, slung his tattered purple jacket over his shoulder, and walked away into the ruined horizon.
"No matter what… I won't die. Not until I've achieved my goal."
