Dar'khan POV
As the elves and the undead were having their little spat, Dar'kan looked out to his people from his crypt, and waved his hand! And with that wave, out came a horde of shades and thunder! Upon looking at his shades with a pleased smile, Dar'kan gave his orders while breathing in the brown haze that settled his encampment.
[summon back Luzran and Knucklerot! And have them bring back all the undead on their way back, even the ghost of my once fellow kin… and have acolytes overseeing the towers in the dead scar, double their work quickly!]
With their orders given, the horde of shades dispersed into the forest of Ghostland's! As they left the black gates and the undead magi that guard its entrance. Jurion, the leader of the shades asked the former magistrate:
[is this the will of the lich king? Has his word finally reached us… after all this time…]
Hearing this question… this blatant disrespect… displeased, Dar'khan as he thought of a lie and a half-truth…
[Yes, this is all for the will of the king… for there is a light hidden in these woods… one that needs to be sought after….]
To these words, Jurion was compliant, but then Masophet stepped up to ask:
[overseer Dar'khan…. it is as you say… a light has shown itself in the old forest… and so, I must ask… what does our king want us to do with it? Capture it or destroy it?]
[capture it at all costs! Destroying it is out of the question! Do not fail our king… Masophet! Better gather all the mages you can and prepare for war!] replied Dar'khan annoyed.
[overseer, if I may inquiry… we do not have enough warriors for an assault on the alliance and horde strongholds!] said Mirdonran with a bow
[worry not Mirdonran, we have more than enough to play their roles! Besides we can hit them from behind with the use of the Suncrown village…] replied Dar'khan with an upset expression
[I'm sorry my overseer, but that is not possible anymore!] interrupted Mirdonran
[WHAT! What of Anok'suten? It was in her hands that I left Suncrown village to!] yelled back Dar'khan with an arcane spell burning in his hands
[My overseer! Anok'suten is dead! Along with the entirety of Suncrown Village! The shades have reported, that it was burned down to the last with every single Nerubian!] replied Mirdonran in quick haste.
[Ah! Useless! Some royal spider BITCH! She had one job….] replied Dar'khan with fury as he released his arcane energy into the air!
[sigh… it's fine… her death means little in the long run… we'll just have to make more undead to compensate!] said Dar'khan as he took a deep breath to calm his nerves...
[Borgoth! You and Dr. Whiterlimb are to triple your work on making me more abomination at once!] demanded Dar'khan
[but… not enough meat…] replied Borgoth with much effort.
[don't worry about the meat! Just use the prisoners! Also, trolls to the west and murlocs to the east should make for a great substitute!] replied Dar'khan with a smile
Druid POV:
With their plan in motion, the druids were busy dealing with the remnants of the undead guards left at Suncrown:
Seeing his prey escape through a portal didn't so much as enrage the druid commander, unlike seeing one of his sentinel leaders' foolishness… frozen and trapped surrounded by a botched ambush… the leading druid could only sigh, at the sight… even as she approached her, the frozen breeze giving off by her, only kindred her hidden rage!
Seeing the druid approach them, the last of the undead guards, forced their big metal shield into the dirt and took a defensive stance! With determination to die in their eyes, they didn't even see when the druid leader had charge… she was simply standing by her frozen ally for a brief moment… And then the next it was already at their face!
With a shock, the last three guards were blown back into the grass, where hunter-pikes and arrows of many kinds, entered their bodies! But being dead meant that they didn't need the use of their internal organs! so, with spikes and arrows sticking out of their bodies, they picked up their sword and foolishly charged at their enemies!
The undead guards felt the arrows and the spikes, they felt the hardness of running while off balance… they endured the pelleting of the moon fires and the scorching heat of the sun fires! Their armor melting and fusing to their bones… they oozed their green blood and their venomous poison from the arrow tips! Did they care? No! They had a duty… and they were going to see it till the end…. Even when broken they fought to protect the portal!
Seeing his foe's tenacity, the head druid felt respect… but only a mockery of one… for when one of the guards foolishly entered his strike range, the druid simply swiped one time with its right claw! Broken and nothing but bones, with scorched marks that made up his aura… that undead blew apart like a birthday candle! With one flex from the leading druid!
But while it blew apart one, the other two seized on their chance! For one came from above and another from the side! Their swords aiming for the head druid life! But as their sword came down, their target didn't move… in fact, it only smiled at the pair in arrogance! For as the undead that came to gut the druid from the side, was just inches away from trusting his sword into its gut, another bear came charging him away!
But not one to be thrown away again, like some cheap toy, the undead grabbed a hold of the bear's head and trusted his sword through the back of his neck! But as his sword cut deep into the bear's thick hide, squirting blood, he looked up to see an arcanic arrow appear at his face! With an explosion, all that was left were his skull fragments!
With the death of the second guard, the last one downward motion was cut short, as his sword was broken to pieces, as it hit against his target's iron fur! And with its breaking, all the undead saw next was a pair of fanged teeth!
With the guards dead and the portal open, the druids and elves gather by its light, but instead of going through it, they stop and wait patiently for the leading druid to make the decision… but as the leading druid looked into the portal and the dead guards… the leader chose not to go in and just stood there until it burns out like a small flame… no one questioned or batted an eye… they simply stood there waiting…
Feeling their eyes, the leading druid walked up to the frozen leading sentinel and made a big sigh! Then with a snort and hot breath fueled by nature, the leading druid freed the sentinel from her tomb! As the sentinel fell, the leading druid said while the restoration druids went to work on the injured…
[everyone let's head back to the isle… Our work here is done until further notice!]
With a nod, everyone got to work on their dead, and prepared to leave when the leading sentinel suddenly woke up!
[wait! Wait! Lea stonepaw! Please wait] said the leading sentinel
Hearing her ally's words, the druid transformed back into a beautiful elf and gestured to the leading sentinel to continue.
[please can you tell me what happened? Did we get the high executor?] replied the leading sentinel
[umm… no… it was a complete failure… your failure… we lost many good sisters this day and nothing to show for it…] replied Lea Stonepaw
To her words, the leading sentinel shook in complete anger, but not anger towards the enemy… but to herself!
[I'm…I'm sorry… I will accept any punishment… I shouldn't have pressed so hard when it was already a…] said the leading sentinel before being interrupted
[quiet! I don't want to hear your excuses! For now, your punishment is to continue the fight but you will do so without the use of your left hand!] replied Lea Stonepaw angrily
With quiet tears, the leading sentinel looked at her mangled hand and swore she would kill the high executor by any means.
[yes… my lady…] replied the leading sentinel with hidden vile.
Lanthios POV
As the portal closed behind him, Lanthios received a hardy hello from the high executor, with a punch to the face! With a quick snarl, Lanthios was seconds away from retaliating when many swords and glaive appeared by his head from all sides! Stopping himself, Lanthios demanded:
{what was that for? Didn't I just save your life?}
[saved my life… SAVED MY LIFE? Did those disrespectful words just come out of your mouth? I'm an undead! I have no life to save! But more importantly, you took me out from a warrior's end!] said Marven with a shaky hand over his sword.
{oh! If it's an 'end' you want… then I can gladly give you it!} replied Lanthios with a grin, that ignored all the blades by his head.
[how dare you talk back to the high executor! You mongrel!] said a random elf guard as the tip of his blade soaked the blood of Lanthios's neck ever so slightly.
But as the tensions were rising, it was suddenly cut short as an elf dressed in fancy robes interrupted the conversation with a few entertained claps.
[now, though it is amusing to watch a mongrel talking back to his betters, now is not the time for this… isn't that right my lady…] said the random elf as he bowed in respect to Layla
Layla simply scoffed at the man's attempt at flattery and said:
{excuse me magister Kaendris, but before we talk further, may I ask that you dismiss your guards around my companion here?] replied Layla with much respect.
[???]
[oh! You mean this… this animal here is your….] said Kaendris with a pause as he studied the Lanthios further, then said with a surprise tone as he saw the slave mark around his neck.
[oh! I see... It's your slave pet! Ha! Sorry… I was confused there, for a moment when you called this 'thing' your companion… but sure guards! Leave this pet alone! I need to speak to its master!] replied Kaendris with an arrogant tone.
With their orders given, the guard retracted their weapons, but as they went back on patrol, they spat at the foot of Lanthios and called him one lucky mutt! While the undead guards couldn't care less and just went back to being lifeless statues around their high executor.
However, the high executor himself, stormed back into his tower to report the day's events back to his lady by sending a messenger bird. But as that bird fled into the night sky, it was suddenly consumed by the ghost of the ziggurat towers that oversaw the road of the dead! While Its body was eaten by the gargoyles that stood guard!
As the undead marched back home on a black road, the night elves on their isle formulated a plan… while trolls sat patiently waiting… as undead dressed in blood elf armor encroached into their territory!
Meanwhile back in the Sanctum of the Sun:
[so, you're Julia's daughter! Umm… no wonder you are such a fine mage at your age… your potential is... Envy-able… I'm sorry to hear what happened to your mother… she was a great mage…] said Kaendris with the smile of a salesman.
Hearing his words, Layla didn't instantly reply, instead, she decided to ponder on her next words carefully, as mages love to talk in undertones. But while she walked in with Ez into the Sanctum… the guards at the door stopped Lanthios from entering!
With a deep breath in annoyance, Lanthios stared into the eyes of the guards as they said:
[Your kind isn't allowed in the Sanctum, surely even a beast like you can understand.] said one of the guards with aggression.
Knowing there was no point in arguing with the elf's sense of superiority, Lanthios only looked at Layla back as she turned to look at him only to hear from Kaendris:
[sorry, my lady but as you know we need to keep the Sanctum clean... and your slave here... Is how you say… dirty…]
To his words, Layla wanted to burn the magister to death, but held it in, as she was used to how others treated Lanthios, though she didn't like it, now wasn't the time to make more enemies. So, while biting her tongue, she told Lanthios to stay by the door just outside while she continued her talks with the magister.
Annoyed, Lanthios stared at the guards as he sat down and began playing with his glaives in a threatening tone as if teasing and taunting the guard to do something…
Meanwhile inside the sanctum:
[Oh! Daughter of Julia will you take up this task?] said Kaendris with that sly smile.
[umm… maybe... But I'll need to discuss this with my companion first...] replied Layla
[companion? Oh! Yes, that slave of yours… but why? I don't see why; you the master need to discuss anything with a slave?] replied Kaendris a little annoyed that she kept calling that dog a companion.
[umm... I don't have a choice...The task you have asked me to do is just that demanding… After all, any small mistake could prove troubling to the council back in Silvermoon should this matter get out of hand…] replied Layla with a curtsy bow as she praised all the political books she was forced to read.
Not expecting such an answer from a child, Kaendris was a little surprised as he replied with squinted eyes:
[very well… go discuss this with your 'companion' and come back… you're welcome back anytime…]
