Chapter 252: The Second Delivery Courier
"This…"
Following Qin Yuezhu's pointed finger, Ping Xinyan quickly noticed the noticeboard hanging beside the entrance of Small Shop. "Hiring a Delivery Courier?"
Her bright eyes moved down line by line, growing more excited with each word.
Agility-type spirit masters preferred?
That's perfect for her!
And the work hours are short—only four hours a day!
She'd only need to work during lunch and dinner hours, which meant she could still sleep in the morning, take an afternoon nap, and even go to bed early at night.
Wait.
Why was she just thinking about sleeping?
Oh well! Not important!
What mattered most was that she'd still have plenty of free time outside of work!
The only concern was the "salary negotiable" part.
She hesitated slightly.
But surely a shop this famous wouldn't offer low pay, right?
Ping Xinyan wasn't expecting anything extravagant. She didn't need to be rich, just enough to cover her meals—that wasn't asking too much, was it?
"Xinyan, it's our turn," Qin Yuezhu whispered beside her, snapping her out of her thoughts. They were now at the front of the line, where Fu Ya greeted them with a warm smile.
"Welcome," she said.
Although both Fu Ya and Ping Xinyan had participated in this year's Advanced Spirit Master Academy Fighting Tournament, their teams—Heaven Dou Royal Academy and Shrek Academy—hadn't faced each other, so they weren't familiar.
Seated at their table, Ping Xinyan tugged at Fu Ya's sleeve as she came to take their order. She asked quietly, "Excuse me, are you really hiring a Delivery Courier here?"
"Huh?"
Fu Ya looked at Ping Xinyan in surprise, feeling like the adorable young woman before her seemed familiar. After a moment's thought, her eyes lit up.
"I recognize you! You were a contestant for Heaven Dou Royal Academy in this year's tournament, right? And if I recall correctly… you're agility-type?"
"You're a contestant too?" Ping Xinyan asked, surprised and a little embarrassed. "Sorry, I don't think I've seen you before."
"It's fine," Fu Ya said with a smile, shaking her head. "I was a reserve team member for Shrek Academy this year and didn't compete much. I recognized you because I'd seen the profiles of Heaven Dou's team members."
"I've already left Heaven Dou Royal Academy," Ping Xinyan said with a small smile, feeling a bit surprised.
She was aware of the makeup of Shrek Academy's team.
Even being a reserve member of Shrek's team was a testament to Fu Ya's talent. Someone like her, likely highly valued within Shrek, was working here as a server?
"Yes, we are hiring a Delivery Courier," Fu Ya said softly, noticing Ping Xinyan's curiosity. "And we haven't filled the position yet."
"I'm interested, but I'm hesitant because I don't know what the pay is like," Ping Xinyan admitted, looking conflicted.
"I can't give you specifics," Fu Ya replied with a mysterious smile. "But I can promise it's very good."
"With the shop closing soon, you'll have a chance to speak directly with the boss. But for now… what would you two like to order?"
Ping Xinyan's eyes brightened as she nodded. After whispering briefly with Qin Yuezhu, they placed their order.
As they enjoyed the delicious dishes cooked by Qi Han, Ping Xinyan's attention wandered toward the Small Shop staff.
The servers were one thing, but soon her eyes caught a figure that appeared like a shimmering mist. Dressed in a blue athletic outfit, carrying a large bag, and wearing a matching blue helmet, the figure moved swiftly through the shop.
With help from the red-haired server, the figure loaded a fresh delivery order before vanishing as quickly as they appeared.
So that's what Delivery Couriers do here?
And that outfit looks so cool!
Ping Xinyan's eyes sparkled with excitement.
If she became a Delivery Courier for this shop, could she get such a stylish uniform too?
It seemed amazing!

Ping Xinyan and Qin Yuezhu were the last customers of the day. As they quietly finished their meal, Small Shop's business hours came to an end.
Qi Han had already been informed by Fu Ya that the petite girl sitting in front of him was interested in applying for the new Delivery Courier position at Small Shop. After drying his hands and taking off his apron, he approached Ping Xinyan, took a seat across from her, and gave Qin Yuezhu a polite nod before turning his attention to her.
"Hello, are you the one interested in the Delivery Courier position?" he asked.
"Yes," Ping Xinyan nodded, glancing briefly at Ji Yunruo, who had leaned in curiously to listen. "Could you first tell me what the job entails? And... what's the pay like?"
Qi Han smiled. "The job is straightforward: delivering customers' orders to their doorsteps. Fu Ya mentioned you're not from around here, so you might not be familiar with Shrek City's layout, but that's not a problem. The routes will be pre-planned for you; you just need to follow the directions."
Really?
Hearing this, Ping Xinyan's earlier concerns dissolved, and a hint of joy flickered in her heart.
It didn't seem like a difficult job at all.
"I'm interested in applying," she said, "but could you share more about the pay before I commit?"
"What's your current cultivation level?" Qi Han asked.
"I'm a level 48 agility-type spirit master, my martial spirit is Little Devil."
As she spoke, four spirit rings appeared around Ping Xinyan, glowing brightly. Her long, pinkish-purple hair shimmered as deep red horns emerged atop her head, along with a pair of small, delicate wings at her back. She effortlessly hovered in the air.
An agility-type spirit master with flying capabilities?
Qi Han raised an eyebrow in surprise. Flying agility-types were relatively rare, and this was his first time encountering one.
Ping Xinyan, already petite, looked even more adorable under her martial spirit's effect. Her wings clearly weren't enough to support her flight, suggesting that this floating ability was an innate feature of her martial spirit.
Qi Han nodded. "As for the pay, it will be the same as Yunruo's."
"One hundred gold coins per month, with two meals provided daily. You can choose from anything on the menu as long as you don't waste food. Additionally, you'll earn one silver coin as a commission for each delivery. How does that sound?"
Ping Xinyan's eyes lit up as she listened. "I accept!"
In fact, she had wanted to agree the moment Qi Han mentioned one hundred gold coins a month, but Qin Yuezhu, ever the more grounded of the two, had subtly held her back to listen further.
When Ping Xinyan agreed, a wave of relief washed over Qi Han and the three staff members.
Especially Ji Yunruo, who had been struggling to handle the workload for a while. With a new Delivery Courier to share the burden, she already felt a sense of gratitude toward Ping Xinyan, evident in the softening of her gaze.
"This afternoon, you can shadow Yunruo for two deliveries to observe how it's done," Qi Han suggested, now more relaxed after finally filling the position. "Then you can officially start. Any questions?"
"Just one!" Ping Xinyan had already reverted from her martial spirit state. Raising a hand excitedly, she turned to Ji Yunruo, her large, sparkling eyes filled with anticipation. "As a Delivery Courier, will I get a uniform like hers?"
"Yes," Qi Han confirmed, pausing briefly before adding, "And if you prefer a different color, that's an option too."
"Different colors?" Ping Xinyan's excitement grew. "I love pale yellow! Can I have that?"
"...Sure," Qi Han agreed, though his expression turned slightly peculiar.
He couldn't help glancing at Ji Yunruo's sky-blue uniform.
Pale yellow and sky blue...
Was this the beginning of a food delivery war between Ugly Regiment and Baoleme in the Douluo Continent?
