With a turn of the ignition, the SUV roared to life and it's highbeams cut through the darkness and illuminated the surrounding woods.
Giving the diner one last look, Nick rolled down his window and turned his SUV's police light on. Without any hesitation, Nick stomped the gas pedal to the floor and began speeding away towards the police department on his GPS.
Nick's tires dug into the crack filled asphalt, his car jumping with every hole this backwoods road had but Nick drove undeterred, his attention focused entirely driving at such speeds on this dilapidated road.
Nick could hear the voices of complaint from the siblings, asking why they were speeding and why he had the window down as it was blasting rhwm in the dace with wind but Nick didn't give a response, instead he seemed to be hyperventilating as he quickly breathed in and out!
Quickly exhaling from his mouth, Nick took a quick snort of air before exhaling from his mouth, he had been repeating this breathing technique since the car started up.
This wasn't Nick hyperventilating, it was him utilizing a self created breathing technique. Doing this helped utilize his Polar bears sense of smell to its absolute potential and allowed him to quickly differentiate the slightest of smells!
The gusts of wind flooded into the speeding vehicle, carrying the odor molecules with them and helped Nick's nose even further. This was very beneficial as Nick could smell the scent of rotting fish get stronger and stronger, most likely the creature was getting closer to the SUV!
As the stench grew to its peak, Nick could see just out of the corner of his eyes a small object slam directly into his tire, exploding it!
Using every ounce of control he had on the vehicle, Nick managed to wrestle the speeding SUV to a halt and stopped in the middle of the road. Without a second thought he began rolling up his bullet proof window and locked every door!
Nicks heart began pounding, he knew what he was fighting against but that only made him more afraid. In none of the movies were they able to kill the creeper, just detain him until he wakes up later!
'Calm down and think Nick, the creeper is a creatures that can smells and track the fear of others. In the movies he was shot by dozens of police but it did little damage, getting run over was what had done the most damage in the first movie. In the second movie it was harpooned through the chest and forced into an early hibernation!'
Nick has seen the creeper heavily damaged from movies and knew how it regeneration worked, he knew it should be possible to kill it, but not if he could kill it with what he had.
Looking into the rear view mirror Nick could see the sibling yells at each other and him, their fear was growing as a shadow overhead could just barely be seen circling above.
With a sigh of defeat, Nick opened up his glove box to reveal a rather large phone. This was the phone given to special Agents to call in Anomalies, it was an enhanced satellite phone that worked anywhere on the planet.
Tapping a few buttons, he raised the phone to his ear and waited a few seconds until he heard the phone pick up.
"This is special Agent Nick Valentine, agent number 001, security code 7313520. Calling in a report on a possible anomaly" Nicks voice was even and steady.
This was the very last thing Nick wanted to do, he had just found a creature that he could absorb that allowed him to regenerate! Now he was sounding the alarm and potentially losing his chance to absorb it!
"Go ahead" A stoic and quick male voice replied quickly after a few secones of typing.
"Its a Category yellow Anomaly. Its Humanoid, highly intelligent, can sprout wings to fly, possibly hundreds of years old, uses some form of regeneration, and can possibly turn invisible or teleport, im not sure." Nick made up the last part, he still hadn't full given up on absorbing the creature!
Just in case Nick actually managed to kill and absorb this creature, he wanted a plausible excuse on its dissappearance.
"The being drives an old rusty truck with the plates [Beatingu], it's allegedly killed over a hundred humans and consumes them. It can grow wings out o-" *Thunk*
The roof of the car dented as the car shook, the yelling siblings turned silent and then terrified as Nick took out the short barreled shotgun and pointed it at the dent.
*Boom* *Boom*
A medium sized hole was now in the roof as black blood dripped into the car, Nicks shotgun slugs tore a hole in the roof and assumably the creeper.
Immediately pulling out his side pistol Nick dumped the entire magazine into the hole and into what little pit of the Creeper that Nick could see, sounds of pain screetch out as the faint woosh of wings could be heard, the Creeper had flown off of the car.
Resting the phone between his shoulder and ear, Nick began reloading his shotgun with more slugs.
"Dispatcher I'm gonna need to hang up, just encounter the anomaly and It can still fly after taking two slugs. Definitely bring in large calibre weapons, explosives or flamethrowers" Nick voice was still stoic and steady, but he wasn't using his snake mindset to keep him calm it was just experience at this point.
"Report received agent 001, identity has been confirmed and request has been recieved, please persevere until they arrive..."
Hanging up and tossing the phone to the side, Nick pulled out his phone and went to Google maps. He knew the police station was too far away and that they'd be useless against this thing, what he needed was a way to kill it!
'A nearby welder shop, I turn make the acetylene gas into an improvised bomb! I doubt an improvised explosion would actually kill it, not to mention its probably too smart to fall for it. I should start packing C4!'
Nick was searching through local locations that could help him against the creeper, gas stations, farms, and ranches. Their wasnt much out in the middle of the sticks that could help him kill the creeper, Nick was scrolling in hopes of finding anything. Thankfully his hopes were answers!
Looking down at his laptop, a chuckle escaped his lips as he immediately began setting up the direction to a place called Lenny's Junkyard!
