"Keep laughing! Why aren't you laughing anymore?" Muria aimed the star cannon, which could change size to suit his form, at the locust God-King. The dark blue light on it flickered, and the sheer natural overflow of power distorted space, creating a natural spatial barrier. This did not consume Muria's own power; he was a unique legendary being who mastered spiritual energy.
"Is that weapon in your hand the reason you dare to enter here alone and try to assassinate me?" Kirov, who could no longer emit the soul sound of laughter, felt the pressure of death. Being hit by this strangely shaped star cannon would definitely kill him!
"If you have to understand it that way, then yes!" Muria's hand gripped the star cannon given to him by the Mechanic King. His body's power continuously flowed into it. He had tested it once at low power, and its power was impressive. After all, it was a star-level weapon capable of piercing an evil god's body at full power.
Although Muria had powered the star cannon many times, he had never fully charged it. Thus, Muria didn't mind delaying a few more seconds to let the star cannon perfectly lock onto the God-King while charging up more energy.
"You need to think clearly. Even if you can kill me with that weapon, the emitted fluctuations will definitely alert the other locust gods. With your strength, you won't be able to leave here alive."
As the star cannon gradually locked onto him, the locust God-King Kirov, feeling the increasing shadow of death, spoke up. He had tried to contact the other locust gods, but the space was sealed. He sensed he could break through it in a short time, but he didn't have the opportunity.
"You don't need to worry about that. All fluctuations will be covered up. No locust will know about your death." With the locust God-King fully locked on, Muria released the restrictions. Intense light shot out from the star cannon's barrel, more than large enough to fit the locust God-King, and blasted toward him.
As the star cannon fired, the power of a demiplane spread from Muria's feet, instantly enveloping the God-King's palace. A slightly desolate world appeared, with majestic towers, dark-themed, art-like cities, lush forests, and a circle of thriving grasslands on the outskirts.
But whether it was the towers or the cities, they were empty and desolate, with little vitality. Only in the jungles and grasslands were there signs of animal activity—this was Muria's demiplane projection, a standard combat tool for legendary mages.
"What is this?" Seeing the space around him suddenly change, the locust God-King's heart filled with astonishment. He couldn't feel the breath of his own world; he was isolated in a closed space. The locust civilization had no mages and didn't understand how to use demiplane power in battle.
Despite his surprise, the locust God-King did everything to fend off the star cannon's blast. Thick psychic crystal barriers appeared, and legendary psychic spells that cracked Muria's demiplane projection were unleashed, using offense as defense.
The supreme scepter in his hand enhanced each of his spells. Above his head, the three star cores embedded in the crown emitted dazzling light. The surging stellar power was drawn and, following pre-set rune arrays, formed defenses and attacks barely touching the divine threshold.
Boom!
The energy impact roared. Under the star cannon's blast, the locust God-King's struggles and resistance seemed feeble and powerless. All attacks and defenses were shattered in the light from the star cannon.
The star cannon wasn't fully charged, but Muria didn't know how much energy it held because, sometimes out of boredom and without any battles, he would casually charge it. After decades, he didn't know how much energy was in it or how powerful this shot would be!
Screech!
Painful soul wails echoed in Muria's soul vision. He smiled, carefully sensing the locust God-King's declining aura. When it reached a certain limit, Muria stopped the cannon. The light from the star cannon vanished. He could control it perfectly before the energy was exhausted.
The locust God-King wasn't dead yet, but he was close. If Muria continued, he might turn the scepter and three-star crown to dust along with the God-King, which would be counterproductive.
Muria needed these duel victory tokens and a living locust God-King. If he turned them to dust, how would Indira devour them? How would he execute his bold plan?
"What are you trying to do?" Sitting on the shattered throne, seemingly unscathed, the locust God-King watched Muria approach. His heart was filled with helpless despair and a faint hope for survival.
In his situation, he didn't want to die. He thought he would turn to dust in that horrific attack, or not even leave dust behind. But to his surprise, he survived.
Crack! Crack! Dense breaking sounds rang out. Under Muria's indifferent gaze, his demiplane projection shattered. The locust God-King's eyes filled with hope, but soon it turned to despair.
"Indira, you can eat now!" Muria said calmly. The violent energy surge had not been completely contained by his demiplane, but with Indira, the super glutton, most of the excess energy was consumed. After all, she could even devour light.
"Yes!" An excited cheer sounded, and a cute figure appeared behind the locust God-King. It was Indira in her original form—human body, dragon horns, wings, tail, and just a head shorter than Muria. Her seemingly small mouth opened, and a black hole appeared.
A strong suction, affecting only the severely injured and nearly depleted God-King, emerged. Amidst the locust God-King's futile struggle, Indira swallowed him whole.
"Spit it out!" Muria extended his hand to Indira's mouth. She had swallowed the scepter and crown as well. If left too long, Muria had no doubt she would digest even artifacts.
"Oh!" Under Muria's stern gaze, Indira reluctantly opened her mouth and spat out the locust civilization's two most powerful treasures.
