Ms. Zackary's panic was instant when she heard this.
She jumped to her feet, voice tight with worry. "My respected leaders, please think about all the years I've served the Capital City Martial Arts Association faithfully. Give me one more shot!"
One leader's voice cut through the air like ice. "It's exactly because of what you've done for the Capital City Martial Arts Association that we're letting you clean this up yourself."
Ms. Zackary's jaw clenched hard. "Just give me a few more days, okay?"
"Three days. That's it. After that, we want to see results that make us happy," another leader said, voice just as cold.
"Ms. Zackary, we really hope you don't screw this up."
The leaders faded away after dropping those words, leaving Ms. Zackary alone with her racing thoughts.
Tears started forming in Ms. Zackary's eyes. She'd never seen this coming.
"Mason Raymond... This is all because of you... Mason Raymond!!!" Ms. Zackary's furious scream bounced off every wall in the room.
