"Shut up," I said coldly.
I shoved Violet Seth to the side and turned to Pat Noble. "Mr. Noble, have you heard of the Ice Palace?"
Pat Noble gave a small nod. "Yes, the Ice Palace had quite a reputation years ago. Word is that several top Martial Saints slumber within their sect."
"Though I can't say if that's actually true."
"Slumbering Martial Saints? What's that supposed to mean?" I didn't quite get it.
The mustached man next to me jumped in with an explanation. "When they say the Martial Saints are slumbering, they mean fragments of their souls remain behind. They're there to protect the sect from total destruction."
"Exactly right," Pat Noble confirmed.
"I'll be straight with you - our Noble family operates the same way."
That's when it clicked for me.
No wonder Pat Noble wasn't worried about the Capital City Martial Arts Association in Downton City!
