Sensing trouble brewing, he muttered quietly, "Retreat now!"
His two companions didn't hesitate—they spun around and bolted!
The three moved with surprising speed. Before anyone else could process what was happening, they'd already put significant distance between themselves and the scene.
"Mr. Raymond, do we go after them?" the crowd inquired.
I drew in a long breath and shook my head. "Leave them be."
I chose to let them run for now. Eventually, I'd track them down and wipe out their entire bloodlines!
"Your help won't be forgotten. When I'm done with these pills, I'll make sure you all get your share," I said, bowing respectfully to the group.
"Thank you, Mr. Raymond!" they responded as one.
Once the crowd dispersed, I made my way back into Earth Fiend Valley.
"Mason Raymond, what's really happening here?" Jerry Sean questioned.
I shook my head. "Jerry Sean, you're breathing—that's what counts. We should get back to Capital City."
