Chapter 2 - God has arrived

She looks at the collection of sandals in front of her, mesmerized by their beauty. Hawaiian slippers, ring sandals, pairs of parrot sandals, sandals that make a sound when you walk... I am not one or two but many, oh my! She exclaims that even God must be overwhelmed by the variety of sandals. However, what should she do? To wear her favorite sandals, she must have accumulated some good karma. She ponders, imagining herself wearing flip-flops and visiting the numerous sandal stores every day, which would be a stroke of luck for her.

Yesterday, she was filled with sadness. Her beloved teacher had given her a worn-out pair of sandals to repair at her house. She eagerly brought them and wore them with joy as she headed to school. However, to her dismay, the sandals tore apart on the way. Was it a curse or bad luck? She wondered, feeling embarrassed. Should she go home barefooted? Should she walk back? These thoughts crossed her mind as she stood in front of everyone, asking if she should bear the shame and embarrassment. She felt deeply ashamed. She went home, stood in front of God's photo, folded her hands, and pleaded, "God, please give me a new pair of sandals. Give me the sandals I desire." But there was no response.

In the same dilemma, she got up. She looked around and realized that there were no fancy sandals for her on the way to school. Disheartened, she continued her journey. As she passed by a sandal store, tears welled up in her eyes. God had not given her any sandals, not even an ordinary pair. The shopkeeper noticed her distress and asked, "Little girl, what do you want?" With a trembling voice, she asked, "Do you have any sandals?" The kind shopkeeper smiled and handed her a pair of slippers. It seemed as if God had sent them. Holding the sandals in her hands, she looked at the shopkeeper's face with joy. She thanked him wholeheartedly and jumped around in excitement, making everyone around her smile. Then she asked, "Do you need another pair?" and shook her head. She had learned her lesson, not taking the kind shopkeeper for granted. She carefully placed the sandals on her feet and left, with a new determination in her heart.
